IF Joe was inclined to make an offer the Stuckey + Knight + 2 Lottery protected firsts is plenty for Rondo... and I could see some sense in that for Boston and for us... but again, it's a fantasy idea that we should be looking at Rondo!
You can't go from zero to hero in 1 off-season. Anything worth building takes time. Joe has been smart all off-season and put us in a win-win scenario:
Josh Smith and Greg Monroe combined with our role players and kids should be enough to make the playoffs... gifting Charlotte a mid-teen pick...
but Joe hasn't been stupid and killed us long term either... because even after giving Monroe the MAX next off-season we could have as much as $6-8 mil in cap space...
Rondo? Why? We should be building for a decade of dominance thanks to Drummond, Monroe, K.C.P and Knight. Josh Smith isn't Mr Right... he's Mr Right Now!
IF things go well for us by the time Mr Smith is an expiring contract he'll no longer be required!
