He is good passing to other side of the court to players open on the 3 point line (i don't remember the expression on that)

Can any of you folks who watch European ball tell me how Giannis compares to a young Kukoc? Tony was a legit point forward back in the day.

Re: Milwaukee Bucks Pick Giannis with pick #15
From the footage I've seen thus far, I think his most impressive quality is his basketball IQ. He just seems to have a natural tendency to dish it once he gets in the paint, a VERY encouraging sign for a player that is so young and inexperienced.
His jump shot also doesn't appear to be as much of an issue as the pre-draft "experts" claim it was. Very encouraging signs. If he can just add some weight to that tooth-pick frame of his, I have no doubt that he can play at a very high level in the NBA.

I don't think he's as far off from being able to play on an NBA court as most assume.

I would have loved to see him play in Summer League to try to deal with the bump in speed that NBA players play with. He just seems naturally talented and made for basketball so I'm sure he would have done fine if he would have been allowed to get the ball.

I imagine we've seen the last of Yanni for today.

From what I've seen Giannis will do well playing with unselfish shooters that move the ball well. I think he'll do fine with guys like Ridnour & Delfino. Think he'd have more issues getting frozen out with Brandon & Monta like Tobes did. (but I guess anyone would) It will be interesting to see how aggressive he is in the American game. European basketball is inherently less selfish.

Montenegro looks really weak, I'm surprised they've reached so far in the tournament

It really depends on the team too.

I really don't see much of a comparison between the two. Kukoc was a knock down, spot up shooter with in-the-gym range, and although he was quite athletic in his younger years, he isn't quite the specimen that Giannis is. GA is more of a drive and score or drive and dish SF.
He has an OK release and range on his shot, but he needs more consistency. The only thing I can really compare is their passing skills, with both being very good considering their size. Kukoc could run a little point forward in his prime, but Giannis has a much better handle.

That's the style of basketball they're going to play under Larry Drew, motion offense. Players have to be unselfish or they're not going to fit in.

How good or bad has the competition been?
He's pretty rail thin in the pictures I've seen of him, but it sounds like he has great instincts and I wouldn't be incredibly worried about the frame to start. It would be awesome to see him come in and contribute something right away. We need a beacon of hope.

I understand that your eyes are on Yianni, but what about your impression about the other Greek players like Laretzakis, Bochoridis, Papapetrou and Agravanis?

3 of his TO are from teammates not in position or ready for the pass.
