I'd love to take a chance on Marshall... he's a young player that can play backup for us. He's shown some good signs with his shot in the SL, I think he can be a good player. He's a pass-first PG which is great to have with our athletes. He showed the ability to push the ball with North Carolina in college, he has great vision.

I'd see if we could get him for Landry Fields straight up... or a second rounder. But they'll probably want some cap space.

Fields + 2nd for Frye + Marshall maybe?

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Not a bad idea. Allows them to get younger on the wing and Frye is useless there with the brothers Morris. I'm not sure we'll ever get something out of Frye, but if he comes back he could stretch the floor for us as a 4/5 off the bench.

Lowry / Nate / Buycks
DeRozan / Ross / Fields
Gay / Novak / Fields
Amir / Hansbrough / Acy
Valanciunas / Amir / Gray

That has a lot of potential... we could be a sleeper in the East with that lineup. A good balance of everything if we can get back to first-year Casey defensive focus. A nice looking young team.

Nate would help us win a lot more than we need, we dont want that! I would be content trying to develop Bikes as the backup pg.

Nick Calathes from Dallas for second round pick.

Calathes is a nice 24 year old pg prospect who looks ready to come back from his Greek adventure. Calathes is a big and very smart PG, and would be a very good back up for the Raptors.

He impressed me when in college with his awareness and timing. Reports say he has improved his game in Greece.

Yes. I'm not sure they do that though.

Rumors have it that he is available. I'd love to see our front office snag him now. He's an old school guard with quick hands on d and length to switch on the picks. He has a knack for making the right play and can feed the ball nicely.

As far as free agents available:

Rodrigue Beaubois DAL 25
Nate Robinson CHI 29
Sebastian Telfair TOR 28
Beno Udrih ORL 31
Xavier Henry NOP 22
Omri Casspi CLE 25
Samuel Dalembert MIL 32
Chris Wilcox BOS 30

These are all guys that should/would come fairly cheap and would make sense on our roster to varying degrees.

Personally I would love to pick up Beaubois as a scoring PG off the bench and Chris Wilcox would be a solid back up Center behind Val. Henry would be interesting to bring on the roster if we could some how make it work, if he shows any signs of figuring things out he could easily become a serious asset or we could keep him and ship out Ross, who I would presume may never bring much else than what he brings now. Maybe a little more consistent.

Wasn't Henry a promising shooter coming out of collage? he was able to hit >40% for 3 in 2011
might be worth a shot for a potential shooter

Marshall would likely cost more. Calathes is a cost efficient back up who we could buy very low on. He is very undar the radar.

I like the idea of bringing in Nate Robinson to back up Lowry. I think he would run the 2nd unit well and he can shoot the 3 along with Novak.

Yea, that's pretty much how I feel about him... the second unit would have an identity with him, and they'd have the ACC going crazy. I can see a 2nd unit of Nate/Ross/FIelds/Novak/Hansbrough actually picking up the play of the starters when they're not on their game at the time... last year, our bench was the reason we lost so many games (primarily Anderson and Bargnani when he played... JL3 wasn't any good unless his shot was falling).

I would also love a deal centred around Kendall Marshall.. I think he has a lot of potential at the PG spot. He's improved his 3 and he sees the floor very well. He's a natural floor leader and a big PG... and he's still only 21. I think he has potential to be an Andre Miller type of PG. Bring him in Masai. If not, bring in little Nate.

Marshall is one of the best buy lows in the league right now

I'm not sure what the Suns want for Kendall Marshall. He had a poor year, but I doubt they give him away for Fields or Camby or Gray or Q Rich or Acy plus future 2nds.

I'm not sure if trading Ross for Marshall is a good deal as I never saw KM play last season but I would guess that that's likely in the ballpark of 'fair'. Both had terrible rookie seasons really.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

I think you are right in terms of value, but I wouldn't do the Ross for Marshall trade.

I have liked Calathes since his Florida days. Great back-up potential, but I am not sure of his European buyout.

blow it up move that works
I just came up with
to Det: Gay, Fields, Lowry
to Mil: Derozan, Monroe, Stuckey
to Tor: Knight, CV, Udoh, Ridnour

could Raps get picks out of that? or moving cap and getting Knight is enough

That's a terrible trade for us. We get literally nothing back that has any value.

Return to Toronto Raptors
