I know im in the minority on this but I like that deal you get a starting PG and a starting 3 who is light years better than anyone we have had there in a long time

we said the same thing about Richard Jefferson.

I want no part in paying Gay's ridiculous contract

Gay is vastly overpaid and not that good. Gay is a 4-5 Mil/year caliber player

This is very true. If another team is interested, they'll have to work on a S&T if they want him. That could be what's being worked on now if there are in fact teams that want him.

Right, well our team blows right now. Like 9 seed blows. Gotta try or tank. Not many options.

I think Orlando could have some interest, unless Tobias Harris warned them against pursuing Jennings or Ellis. Which he may have, if he's smart. But if not, I think Nelson/Harkless would be great. I might even throw in Udoh.

This is probably spot on.

What about Jennings for Mario Chalmers some filler to make the salaries match and the heats 1st? Mabye, we can use their first to move up along with some of these seconds.

Haven't read through the 41 pages, but what about the Rockets??? Asik/Lin/Picks for Jennings?

Jameer + Harkless is about the best trade we could do for Jennings. Unfortunately that might be a tough sell to both Orlando and Jennings. We can take back one of Orlando's bad contracts in exchange for Udoh but I can't imagine why they care that they have those at this point.

No way they give up Asik for Jennings. And isn't Morey an advanced stats GM? Jennings is a bottom 5 PG to any advanced stats person (except Jon Nichols).
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Jennings is actually a better PG than Lin for that system but you would need Ersan involved in that deal

Adding Rudy Gay doesn't raise your peak any higher then the 8th seed if your peak is the 9th seed.

Jennings would be an excellent fit for Houston with his head partially removed from his ass. He can do the basic PG stuff and some spotting up from three while Harden runs the PNR.

Yeah, but do you really think Harden and Howard would rather have Lin than Jennings?

There seems to be this (kind of funny) norm on this board that what "advanced stats" NBA guys employed by teams actually do is look up players TS% on basketball reference.

Howard and the Rockets like Lin to give them more reach in China.

But that doesn't mean they love Lin. And the Bucks also would overvalue him for the same reason, just as we did for Yi.

I agree that a Rockets deal would likely revolve around Ersan, with a Jennings and Lin swap being almost ancillary.

Ilyasova would be beastly hitting wide open threes after defenses collapse on Howard following a Harden pick and roll.

Could see them sending Asik to a third team who then sends something to us. Not sure who would be chasing Asik though.
