Was a hard choice between Wilt and Bird for me.

I'm one of those people who believes Wilt would dominate the league today (obviously not with the same gaudy stats), but I know a lot of people disagree so it was a tough choice.

Buckin' the system by selecting a guy who's not a champion and may never get one now thanks to the Thunder GM that built then tore down a potential dynasty for a bad reason.

As a player and All Star though I valued Durant's scoring for the type of team I wanna be able to build, especially with the way guys are falling.

I'll have to see what happens though, next pick #30.

Btw that pic of Wilt holding the Hornets logo in the infamous "100" photo is fresh.

Definitely surprised he went this early...especially when there are more rounded guys out there that are just as capable in terms of scoring. I have Durant at 48 on my big board. But that is what is so great about this...you have a great shot at getting your guy because they are less likely to be everyone else top choice at a given pick. It makes predicting who will be around for your next pick damn near impossible.

Well as far as being rounded he averaged 1stl 1blk to go w nearly 30pts 7rebs the past 3yrs, for what I'm building he's rounded enough for me.

Also his scoring efficiency is better for what I need out of a scorer and no way he makes it to the 40's, no less #48 pick either while I do see some targets falling into the late 20's-30 which is when my next pick is.

I'd say post them in here so that both teams can give their OKs but also e-mail me the details so nothing gets missed. It'll make it easier for me to keep things updated.

I have a feeling my second pick will make it to the next round the way the draft is going.

Why not just make a trade thread?

Things could get real cluttered having nearly all of them in the same thread.

No need for another thread just for that. They just need to confirm it here, send it to me, and I have a spot saved in the draft thread (2nd post) to put every trade.

Breaking news. According to sources the Bullets trade 13, 28, 53 to the Mavericks for Lebron James, 39, 79.

An interesting idea I just came up with to spice up the end of this draft a bit more...

Technically, there are 300 players that can be drafted. As of now, with 20 teams and 10 rounds for players...we will draft 200 of those 300, leaving a rather large pool of players.

In past B-a-T's there is a FA period where you get to round out your roster.

How bout something like this...and let me know what you think...

We perform a silent auction for the remaining All-Stars. Every team is given a budget of $100 to spend on FA's. They E-mail me with a list of 4 players they are interested in, two of which will round out your 12 man roster (instead of 10, where it is now). You bid a certain amount towards each player. based on how much you want them. If you outbid all of the other owners to get a player, they are yours. With 100 players remaining, this would mean that we would be selecting an additional 40 of them. Everyone would have a list of those 100 players at this point, as well.

It would create an interesting wrinkle, in terms of depth and additional strategy. You could go hard for who you think is the BPA still available or you could play it smart, bidding high for the next step down...knowing there is a much better chance you will land them.

At this point, this is just a discussion about the idea...let me know what you think or how it could be improved.
