I think we offer him the MiniMLE now that Mike is gone.

And i think it's worth the risk, espically if we can't get Dalembert.

Even if we can get dalembert, i would rather give the money to oden.

I'm pretty strongly against giving Greg the MMLE unless all other options have been exhausted.

If and it's a big if oden can stay healthy for the playoffs that would more than make up for the loss of miller.

The fact that Conley is talking to Elisburg is a great sign!

That tells me that oden's agent wants more than the min. Conley knows what the min amount is, he is probably telling ellisburg what kind of numbers and guaranteed money they want.

hopefully now some of the hysterical posters could better understand the Miller amnesty. Think big picture. Oden is big.

It might take the MMLE to get him. It better be 2 years then, with the second being a team option.

Oden won't sign a deal like that. If he plays well this season, he could get a lot more money than 3mil next year. I think we should offer him the mini mle and he will have to play a certain amount of minutes or games to get the full 3mil.

Lol if players like James jones and Rashard Lewis got 2 year deals with a player option, I doubt oden will even consider 2 yr team option offers.

That's the deal that Riley needs to get him at. The Heat need to be able to reap the benefits if he works out in exchange for him getting a much higher starting salary in the first year. After year 2 the Heat would have his Early Bird rights and could sign him to a contract up to equivalent to the regular mid level exception which unless he becomes what he was drafted to become should be enough to keep him.

If he works out the Heat need to ensure they can keep him or he will just bolt if he works out and ends up wasting the Heat's time.

it wouldnt be wasting the heat's time if he makes an impact this year and helps us win another title. I dont think oden would take a 2 year deal 2nd year team option. No flexibility for him. Think about it, even if birdman had left, would u think he wasted the heat's time this year? of course not, he made an impact. That is what the heat are trying to get from oden.

Yeah if Oden helps us win a third title, and then wants to bolt next summer--go for it. Three in a row is three in a row.

Rex and the rest of you. Riley isn't giving him the MMLE - that's not at all why we amnestied MM. He'll get the vet min offer with player options.
