That is BS. I just don't see any way that that is true. Lots of teams are going to be in the lotto again and would only have a better shot at Wiggins if they chose Noel. Secondarily, no GM wants to look like an a** in 2 years when they passed on an all star. Noel dropped because teams were worried about his ability to perform over the length of his rookie contract, based on his build and offensive game, or because his knee didn't check out medically, or based on a combination of those two factors.

I think most GM's would rather look like an a** from their office as an NBA GM, than look smart in the unemployment line.

I think a big part of his slip is that the teams at the to of the lotto want to improve this season.

The Cavs clearly were looking for a guy to contribute now.
Oladipo can be argued to be an equal prospect to Noel. Maybe a tad safer.
EG is looking to save his job, it would have been really hard to pass on Porter.
Noel may give Jordan flashbacks to Kwame Brown.
Phoenix choosing Len over Noel is probably the most questionable, since they seem to be similar risks with many thinking Noel is the better prospect.
In dealing the pick for a young star, New Orleans quite clearly wants to show improvement this season.

Here is the list of some of the basketball players that James Andrews as operated on.

Basketball players
• Charles Barkley: shoulder, 1990
• Michael Jordan: shoulder (therapy, not surgery), 1994
• Penny Hardaway: knee, 1996
• Randy Livingston: knee, 1996
• Scottie Pippen: elbow, 2001
• Allen Iverson: elbow, 2001
• Aaron McKie: shoulder, 2001
• Chris Webber: knee, 2003
• Shaun Livingston: knee, 2007

Looks like the knee injuries in the past haven't been that successful. Then again there are also guys like Adrian Peterson who was able to come back better than ever.

Nate you mind putting this poll as a reminder in the new 2014 Draft thread OP?

Few laughs and giggles.

To be fair, I should have included Noel. General consensus was that he would not be available at 3, however he was #1 on my draft board.

Whodathunkit? I would have voted for Noel instead of who I did vote for... Zeller.

It's funny. When we passed on Noel, no one was upset (outside myself and a few other posters) however the majority of the posters agreed that he was the #1 prospect. Same sentiments were echoed over on the BF community.
