were alright. erry matching fwasnt that big a deal..... and in retrospect backing out of the smith deal probably was in our best interest long term too. were already better than last year in the east.... the top of the EC got stronger, our comp for the middle got weaker. we still got 20 million to spare.... plenty of expirings for next year in the hole. this offseason has made us better, younger, and cheaper.

nothing to get to bent about unless we make some stupid moves from here.

Hope you're kidding. We have 9th seed written all over us right now. We have to do something big at both the 1 and the 3 or this franchise is finished.

Alternatively, we trade Ersan and **** blow this mother.

Go big with 1 and 3 or tank. Otherwise **** this **** team.

yeah 4yr/42m was what was needed to make Ferry Balk IMO.

At least we got them to stunt Shroeders growth for a year.

Wouldn't suprise me to see the Hawks trade Teague back to us for a 1st as soon as it becomes legal next season.
Especially if BJ leaves after playing out his QO.

We are a Sanders & Ersan season ending injury away from Wiggins.

What about Nash, think they Lakers are ready to Tank and start shedding salary.

Jennings S&T for Nash

BJ would probably take 4/30m to play for the Lakers.

You may be right but I don't see six teams we are better than right now.

I would say Orlando and Philly and ???????????????????????????????

Boston-not right now
Toronto-depth wise maybe but not starting 5
Charlotte-quite possibly we are

Any other teams are better on paper and barring signifcant injuries or regression of players

Just returned from my Greece/Italy trip yesterday (and, no I couldn't find a Giannis Antetokounmpo 2nd division Filathlitikos jersey anywhere.) Most people didn't even know the name. Oh well...

When I left I was hoping to be able to discuss a completely revamped Bucks roster upon returning. So let me get this straight...

OJ Mayo 3/24 (I'm good with that one)
Zaza Pachulia 3/15
Carlos Delfino 2/6
Luke Ridnour 1/4

So OJ Mayo and three former Bucks retreads in arguably the most important offseason in franchise history? What am I missing? I see we offered Teague a deal that was matched. Without me having to read hundreds of pages, can someone please explain to me what the fug is going on? Whats the deal with Jennings? Why did the Bucks not offer more for Teague if they wanted him to be the starting PG? Any other rumors floated from BuckPack to get me excited about this season?[/quote]

BuckPack has gone MIA. Looks like you're pretty much caught up. Might sign and trade Jennings. He (not surprisingly) is said to be very unhappy with us right now. BP said at one point we were heavily targeting a "FA" SF, who we thought was AK47. Obs, that didn't work if he was the target. Now thinking it might be Granger.

Hammond has done better than usual, but still got owned by Danny Ferry on a reasonable offer sheet to Teague. Many of us believe that the success of the offseason depended on Ferry not matching. But, he did. Now we need to address the 1 and the 3 or we're ****.

please explain to me how hammonds got owned by ferry just cause he matched it,man people here will throw hammonds under the bus for anything even if another GN matches his offer.WOW

Ugh. Not that I wanted to overpay Teague, as I've only seen him play extended minutes vs the Bucks, but why not offer more if you really want him to be the PG? I'd rather throw 4/40 his way than burn money on ZaZa and Delfino. Seems like another very Bucks-like situation in that they sign end-of-the-bench guys before inking starters. Priorities, priorities. Well, thanks for the info.

betcha 50 bucks ferry matched 4/40 then all these hammonds haters would of said damn him he should of went 4/46

Ferry played us 2x now, trade deadline and now with Teague.

ferry had said before and after the offer sheet that he was no way shape or form going to do a sign and trade with Teague, the only the way the bucks would of gotten Teague is if and only if ferry didn't match the offer sheet.Damn get off the blame hammonds on this one the majority of us thought that offer to Teague was fair

First of all it's Hammond not "Hammonds." Learn his name before you defend him.

It's not just that Ferry got the upper hand, it's that Hammond HAS NO FU*KING BACKUP PLAN.

If you have one deal that is going to make or break your offseason, YOU MAKE SURE IT HAPPENS. I would have preferred to overpay Jeff Teague (yes, Jeff Teague) to being stuck with Brandon Jennings, malcontent.

We have very few things we can do to salvage this. We should tank. But, we aren't going to, so good luck John. I don't envy you or Herb's pocketbook right now.

We will literally have to completely mortgage the future to have a playoff team this year.

Yep it was better than fair, thats why Ferry matched, so he can trade him for assets later. If we wanted Teague, we had to pay him more than fair market value, so he was no longer a trade asset. It all comes down to what JT was worth to us and what our contingency plan was. As soon as Dallas got Ellis, I was 99.99% sure Ferry was going to match Teague.

Bingo. There's always an inherent risk in signing an RFA, that the offer is matched. Since that's the case - what's the contingency plan?

Its a chess game, the whole, Ellis/Teague/BJ contracts are pieces, if Hammond wanted Teague he has to guess Ferrys value of him and outbid it, he guessed wrong. I'll bet he had sources saying Ferry wanted Ellis and that he could get Teague for a song, and then Dallas swooped in and got Ellis and our song turned into a Stryker love balad. Hence Hammond lost out of his gamble and his tactics failed AGAIN.

Other GM's play chess games. Multi-dimensional chess when you add in the salary cap considerations.

Hammond? He's still trying to figure out that peg game they have at the Cracker Barrel and whether or not he can swipe some for use as golf tees.
