Why couldn't Henderson be a starter on a championship team? Have you seen how diluted SGs are these days?

From what I've seen of Smart I definitely prefer Hendo alongside Kemba.

hendo could start on a championship team provided he is your 4th option on offense, maybe 3rd option on a team like oklahoma where you have two 25ppg+ scorers, but even then okc would need a legit offensive option in the paint and wouldnt that guy more likely be the 3rd option?

like i said earlier in this thread, see if you can create a championship level team where hendo is the 3rd option. its tough.

hendo as 3rd option?

pg: westbrook - 2
sg: hendo - 3
sf: durant - 1
pf: ibaka - 4
c: chandler - 5

debate between who would be 3rd, ibaka or hendo.

Hendo, and it isn't close. Ibaka's offense is all dunks and mid-range.

Hendo would kick some major ass on a team like OKC or SA even if he doesn't hit three consistently. I still think he's more than likely a future 3rd or 4th option on a contender. I hope that contender is ours in 3-5 years.

Probably see-saw between the two with a slight edge to Ibaka just because you need to at least pretend to try and score down low and you know Chandler isn't going to get buckets.

Hendo would rarely even see the ball on a team like OKC unless he was a 3-point threat. He disappeared enough on a offensively challenged Bobcats team that I know he'd get lost in the Thunder grand scheme of things with Durant and Westbrook dominating the ball. Hendo is not a spot shooter. Therefore Ibaka would likely be the 3rd option over Hendo if he was a part of their nucleus.

thats kinda what i am thinking.

hendo's game doesnt really lend itself to playing off the ball for large stretches. he needs to be a main part of the offense and he isnt good enough at it to be a top 3 option on a great team.

Would anybody do either of these trades?

Hendo to DEN for Quincy Miller & Jordan Hamilton

or

Hendo to OKC for Perry Jones & Daniel Orton

both of those trades just seem like throwing henderson away for spare parts that aren't particularly promising. why not get a pick instead of a player? just makes a lot more sense to pay him the qualifying offer and revisit sign/trades next summer or let him walk IMO.

I would try Henderson for Wilson Chandler.

The Nuggets have Galinari at SF and I think Henderson fits better at SG.

Chandler is price more like a 6th man and he could give us some offense.

Absolutely not.

What role would he play? He is pretty much just average at everything.

I guess you haven't seen much. This kid is a scorer and playmaker that draws comparisons to Wade and Harden.

Ibaka isn't a championship level scorer, but he is arguebly a championship level defender. Oh, and by the way Oklahoma hasn't won a championship yet.

Which was my point to begin with. Hendo is just to average. I just don't see the skill that would keep him in the starting line up on a team that wins a championship.

The "Hendo to DEN for Quincy Miller & Jordan Hamilton" deal is intriguing, but the "Hendo to OKC for Perry Jones & Daniel Orton" deal should be a definite 'no'. I wouldn't do neither deal unless it becomes totally apparent that Henderson will indeed walk or absolutely want out of Charlotte, therefore I would do it to get some kind of compensation out of him. The reason why I'm intrigued by the Denver proposal is because of Jordan Hamilton. Hamilton has size, and he knows how to score the ball in a variety of ways, but his defense is rather lackluster. Quincy Miller has been a disappointment, but he's still young & has upside. I wouldn't be surprised if Miller bursts onto the scene as a serviceable SF/PF a la Earl Clark after a few years in the NBA

:o Ok lets really think about this. Hendo wants 8 mil a year We do a S/T. with Phoenix for Shannon Brown Expiring and Kendall Marshall. We pick up 6'4" shooting guard for this year and KM for Price to develop in case we lose Sessions next year

I've been convinced for a while that bobs is a genius disguised as an idiot. He's still hilarious though.
