I realized he was a super homer nutjob a while ago after reading his posts downplaying the neo-nazi's in Greece and his claims that Batum wasn't good etc... and that fact that he couldn't even get a long with Emunney.
Oh, cool.On the plus side the guy did get the better of an argument with a very drunk Ayt. That's something I'm going to tease Ayt about until at least the end of time.

FWIW I sometimes read emmuney's posts in a proper posh British accent, articulate bastard that he is.
That night was hilarious, you could see Ayt's drunken rage boiling to new heights with every post he made. I also found it funny that throughout this thread Interbasket would respond to everyone but seemed to miss your posts going back to that night.

He did didn't he.
Before we hit the next game of our Greek god and forget about this amusing cameo I thought I'd drop this nugget of pure gold here. It features our recently lost hero talking about Jennings in Europe:

See, everyone chose to ignore his 197 IQ. Now we have the "Brandon Jennnings Conundrum."

We really have a lot riding on Adetokunbo. He's wearing Ray Allen's number, so he's got the only trade worse than the Tobes one on his back. He's replacing Tobes as our SF of the future, so he's gotta pan out to be better than Tobes. And on top of that, we know Ferry wanted him badly, so this is our one chance to stick it to that douche.

What are Greece's strong points as a team?
Sito Alfonso wrote:I think they have three, mainly. Firstly, their ability to control the pace, they have players who do that extremely well; a lot of them are younger, in their first year at U20 level, they have however experience at this level of competition and have controlled the game fantastically in all the games I've seen them.
Secondly, they have some stretches of great three-point shooting which if you fail to control, they can generate very wide margins; they have in particular three or four players that if they start shooting well, they pick up confidence and also step up their defensive effort.
Thirdly, their defensive capacity, as they might not have players of 2.15m but they rotate very well, have a lot of similar players who can interchange positions and it is obvious they have worked on their defence a lot, forcing the opponent to put energy into reading it every time.

Re: Milwaukee Bucks Pick Giannis with pick #15
Players that have impressed me so far from the games i saw:
-The turkish seven-footer, Ramazan Tekin. Strong, has a post game, can shoot from the mid-range, hits his free throws and is a legit defensive anchor. Looks like he'll be drafted at some point.
-The Latvian perimeter trio (Vecvagars, Jakovics, Berzins). They play fast and shoot lights out, if they keep it up Latvia might get gold.
-Amedeo Della Valle, italian combo guard. This kid is a baller, not sure if he is an NBA prospect but has nice skills and is very explosive.
-Croatian forward Antonio Boban, very nice size for SF, shoots very well.
- French g/f Boris Dallo, looks like a new version of Mickael Pietrus, very athletic.
And disappointments:
-Mam Jaiteh, expected him to have more impact. Doesn't look big enough to me to play NBA C.
-the russian 7'3'' giant, Rogozhkin. He is mobile for his size and can play, but he should have been more dominant. He still should get drafted at some point though.
As a disclaimer i've missed a lot of games, so no opinion on Spain or Lithuania for example. The three best teams i've seen were Latvia, Italy, Turkey in that order. As for Greece, they have a number of good players in the 2,3,4 positions (Larentzakis/Bochoridis in the 2, Giannis/Papapetrou in the 3, Agravanis/Kamperidis at the 4), but they lack a legit PG and C, so players have to play out of their positions (Bochoridis at 1 and Agravanis/Kamperidis at 5). They are also probably the youngest team left in the tournament, every other team runs mainly with '93 born squads, while Greece has 10 guys born in '94. The positive is that the majority of this team (including Giannis, though i doubt he'll play) can compete again in the same tournament next year (the U20 Euro is a yearly competition).

He has his shot (dunk attempt) blocked by a tall player contesting him, it looked representative of his lack of strength in comparison.

Can't wait to see Giannis when he has more freedom on offense and can drive. Looks like Greece has him as like a 4th option, not even looking to drive/score when on the perimeter

And that's why you don't save the ball under your own basket.

Kamperidis is my 2nd favorite player on this team. Giannis needs to work harder off the ball.

G-Bo isn;t looking good with the ball. Don't blame Greece for not giving him the green light.
Euro And1's are worse than Nba And1's. At least in the NBA they reserve the continuation like that for star players.
Single elimination now, right?

Single elimination, but there's an extensive consolation bracket.
