There's no way you can be happy when you draft a guy who hasn't show much more than the ability to shoot 3s and watch him shoot 5 for 28 on 18% at it all the while turning the ball over at a rapid pace almost every time he dribbled (3.7 TO) without a single assist. Discouraged is the word.

His shooting would be the least of my worries as his shot will eventually go down if he gets open looks. His inability to create off the dribble is the problem.

Ben McLemore better get as many shots up as he can now, because it's going to be a problem if he's jacking up shots & missing like that when DeMarcus Cousins is on the floor. Actually, I can see McLemore getting intimidated by Cousins and going into his disappearing act mode

Everybody already knew he couldn't create off the dribble though. I guess the only new concern besides his shooting woes should be that he's not that great at finishing around the rim either.

Im just thrilled we didn't pick him. Him and Noel was who I absolutely did not want, at all. I could have lived with Bennett, but its well documented that I was on the Zeller bandwagon.

The Kings have a wretched SL team. McLemore and McCallum are their only decent players by far, everybody else on that team pretty much moves with the IQ of an electric football player.

I'm still no where near ready to count McLemore out. It's just summer league.

But him being drafted by the kings hurts his chances at reaching his potential.

Agree. He'll be fine. I'm not a big fan of his, but he'll get plenty of open looks this year. Cuz is a good passer out of the post and I imagine Bennie Mac will be a better Marcus Thornton than Marcus Thornton as a result. I still don't see the blue sky, multiple All-Star, potential that all of the NBA hacks did, but think he'll pan out.

It's hilarious the campaign against him continues. The draft is over. We should be happy with Zeller. But let's inject some balance into the smear campaign. I know it seems like McLemore has gone 0 for Summer League but it's not true. People are omitting the game where he displays his promise. If you're going to discuss a player please present the whole picture. If I wanted nothing but sound bites from a politician I'd watch C-SPAN. I enjoy the game more when everything is put out in the open and we can weigh all the evidence. It's not an honest discussion or a real conversation if all we get to read is snap judgments that omit important information. It's no fun.

And I'm hearing SAC's summer league team is terrible.

Summer league means about as much as spring training in baseball.

Absolutely nothing.

Now you can and you are certainly entitled to continue to carry on with a one-sided (also known as biased) presentation of this basketball player but I'm not going to participate. What do I get out of it? I'd rather watch sit around all day and watch QVC or some random infomercial on repeat.

This will be the last post I mention McLemore until the All-Star break.
It has been written...

My view is, if you're doing good in summer league, you should take it with a grain of salt, but if you play bad in the summer league, its definitely a red flag.

The fact that McLemore is shooting this bad from the field against players of a much lower caliber/experience level than those he will face in the regular season is a HUGE red flag. If he feels pressure now, how will he react once he has the stars of this league in his face? I just don't get the feeling like McLemore is the kind of guy who will react well under pressure.

The shooting percentage from the field is concerning, but also the fact that when the stroke isn't working most guys drive to the bucket. Either he doesn't have the stones to make it work or he doesn't have the instinct/ball skills to pull it off. Playing for the Kings isn't going to help the pressure either seeing as he's expected to fill Tyreke Evans shoes and give legitimacy to a completely anemic offense. I don't see things going well for McLemore this year
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

The Spurs did it again. They pulled a solid prospect out of thin air with Aron Baynes. He's a tough hardnosed player that can score in the post and bang for rebounds.

 @ the Raptors 8-man rotation they just showed on NBA TV. They had Lowry, DeRozan, Gay, Amir, and Valancunias starting with Ross, Novak, and Fields being their bench. Ross, Novak, and Fields all play the same position.

Hope Charlotte native and NBA Summer Leaguer, Jamie Skeen, gets some more burn in this next game or two. Dude can ball.

you could have asked any Aussie bball fan and they could have told you what Baynes can bring.
They would have gotten him as Spurs assistant, Brett Brown, coached him in the Aus National side.

I'm surprised their hasn't been more praise of Reggie Bullock's play in SL on this thread. I guess there's not many posters on here that are diehard Tar Heels fans like I initially suspected

I heard former Bobcats player D.J. Augustin signed with the Raptors recently. The way how Dwight Buycks has been playing in SL, I wouldn't be surprised if Augustin gets demoted to 3rd string at some point during the regular season if not before it starts. Buycks continues his stellar play from OKC with Toronto's SL team in Vegas after signing a multi-year deal by putting up 18 points & 10 assist today in a Raptors win

for a team with so many guys with NBA experience and drafted guys, the blazers are surprisingly bad... unless mccollum is making shots.

pulling for MIN against DSelect. MIN has some guys I've enjoyed watching Paul, McCamey, Sikma, Hummel, Deng. Only guy on Select I like is Elijah Millsap.

JT is the second leading scorer (21.7) per game for the Vegas SL.

Biz is the 5th leading rebounder (9.7) per game for the Vegas SL.

Biz also plays 8 less mpg than the leading rebounder (26 Vs 34 - leader averages 16 per).
