If we QO him, and he accepts, is that a one time thing? Or in the next offseason, can we QO him again? Essentially keeping him around on one year contracts until we get a draft pick out of him?

trading him seems foolish? you don't know what the deal is/could be

no one on this team is untradeable

But we do. It'd be less than the Grienke deal which was a top 50 prospect and the clubs 7th and 14th ranked prospects, which means I'd rather Johnson.

Since he can accept or decline the QO, we can continue to do it until he declines and signs with another team.

So yes, we can do 1 year contracts until he is either worth too little or enough to decline.
