Are you drunk?

 You must be used to WD by now.

He spouts a load of "opinion" then he backs down on it denying that was ever his position, then he says he'll never talk about it again, then he does, then he makes a calming gesture. He's harmless but probably not been drunk for about 40 years.

I don't back down, I choose not to engage in some comments further...Since this is just a sports board and noone really knows each other (other than maybe the PM or maybe some have met) these are all opinions. My main position about all of these posts is very simple...We can have a difference of opinions without subtle insults, we seam to go very far in expressing our "individual" opinions.

This board provides entertainment and enlightenment, Again I choose not to engage in too much back and forth when "opinions and not facts are expressed"

One last thing, I don't have to like anyone on these boards to respect or learn something from the comments that are made.....Seams like insults get you points/friends/and1's etc. Again, I don't back down, just choose not to engage in debates about opinions. Everyone has access to stats sites, FA software, has friends who knows someone on a team, etc. BUT SOMETIMES, people think because they have a old join date, a lot of posts, or a lot of sport boards friends, they are the authority......

SO if my responses appear to be "calming" I choose to show my maturity first rather than just flame a comment.....

see, I didn't insult or use any profanity...

I didn't insult or flame you either.

I've never found you to be aggressive or insulting. a flip flopper maybe but polite with it.

As you say we all just give our opinions and feelings.

^Hif

I did not say YOU insulted or flamed me, I was speaking in general.....Although i do not agree with everything I read from you....I STILL ENJOY reading the stats/MLE/Salary Cap, etc. info from YOU and other posters. So I have to read through some "not so nice" stuff to get this info...

regarding "flip flopping" - I think I just try to stay neutral..less confrontational.....

NBA Rumors ‏@NBARUMORS 18h
The Heat are looking for a trade partner for Joel Anthony, who makes 3.8M in 2013-2014 with a player option of 3.8M in 2014-2015.

Add some money and ship him out :)

As much as you might hate Joel, he can add value to any team with his defense and shot blocking. I can see Miami sending Joel and future picks to a cap team. Not sure if we are looking for an expiring contract to clear room for 2014 or just tax relief. Either way, his contract is far from untradeable.

The repeater tax does not "reset", It is if you are in the tax 3/4 previous seasons. We have been in the tax the last 3 seasons (including this year). So even if we were under the tax next year, the following year we would have been in the tax 3/4 previous seasons and be repeaters. We would have to get under the tax 2 years in a row to do this, which is basically impossible with the big 3.

Having a center on the court that doesn't rebound and is undersized is a detriment to any team. Why do you think we don't play him? He's garbage man.

I would bet anything that any poster that calls Joel "a bum" doesn't have even half of Joel's work ethic, character and professionals.

This is what I'm talking about....I don't usually react to join dates, but judging by his.....he hasn't watched a lot of heat games where Joel actually contributed and was a difference..

He'll be wanted in many other teams.

LOL

Some of you are so sensitive.

Joel Anthony is a bum with a ridiculous contract that a team like the Knicks or the Raptors would've given him.

Then people think teams would actually want him...like the Raptors.

So you basically saying only a crappy team like the Raptors would want him with his contract is pretty much telling me you think he's a bum.

He doesn't rebound, he can't catch a lob, he can't catch a bounce pass, he can't make a layup, or a dunk, he just guards pick and roll real well and is a weakside shotblocker.

That's pretty bummy...has he helped, yeah...would I give him 3.8 million a year...no. Would I let him walk if he wanted money like that, yes. He's a vet min player.

You can't get attached to a player that really doesn't do anything. You can't even let the guy touch the ball, you can't even run a pick and roll with him..

YOU CAN'T RUN A PICK AND ROLL WITH HIM, HE IS THE MOST USELESS BIG MAN IN THE GAME OFFENSIVELY.

You gotta treat him like he's special.

"It's okay Joel, you'll make the layup next time." He's thirty years old with no type of coordination at all.

He's a grown man that can't catch a big round ball. He can't jump and catch at the same time. It's bad to watch, so bad. You might as well just let him stay backcourt and play 4 on 5 on offense...literally.

No sense in having a discussion with you about Joel when it is obvious you hate the guy and can't be objective about it. You are entitled to your opinion. Most every other Heat realizes Joel's limitations but also recognize everything he DOES bring to the team.

Joel has made an impact before, however that is kind of only on OUR TEAM. Hes effective at times because hes a "center" that can hedge out, recover and block shots. Thats what we valued him so much and explains the 3.8 mil dollar contract. HOWEVER, how impactful would he be on another team? thats up for debate, he cant finish, cant catch the ball, cant shoot. Hes offensively challenged and that only worked because this team has lebron james, wade, bosh and a bunch of shooters. We didnt NEED his offense, but another team wont pay 3.8 mil to a player that is so challenged offensively, they just wont.

Limitations...

Joel doesn't have limitations. He has total complete lack of any motor skill that you expect an athlete to have.

He's just tall and tries to be an athlete. At least he can block shots and doesn't mess up pick and roll assignments.

I love this Joel Anthony video though.
