Seriously, FA started on July 10th..AND HE is waiting for?????????

We should not be kissing NO FA's asses that haven't played in 4 years....Ray Allen came off a PLAYOFF TEAM to sign with us shortly after the FA period began...Ray Allen, an established player...ODEN has not shown me NOTHING.

FOCK ODEN.....HE DOES NOT FIT

save the azz kissing for Lebron James in 2014

Finally I agree with you.

I said the same thing. Oden is just using us for $$ from another team.

If he was serious about coming back to the NBA, he would join Miami in a heartbeat. 2 time defending champ in desperate need of a Center. That means, the most TV and media exposure + playing time + a chance for a championship ring........ it's a no brainer. If he plays well and contributes, he can bolt next year when lots of teams offer him a max contract. All of that I mentioned vs... 2 more million from another team.

Oden is simply dumb or he's just using us to rob another team of $$. I still doubt he will ever play in the NBA again.

will Dally signing with Mavs for a starting role and 7mil looks like options are drying up for Oden which is good for us.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

I wanted Dalembert because we are literally desperate, as the options are drying up for us too...... but Dally spurning us AGAIN in exchange for a slightly bigger contract on a scrub team...... just goes to show you, the guy has no hunger to win a ring. He just wants to collect the biggest paycheck and chill.

Dally did us a favor.

I don't Miami was really interested. They never went above and beyond to sign him like they do when they really want someone. IMO, if he was still there next month, then Miami would've shown interest.

Riley takes his time with signings and is slow playing Oden, but I believe he will sign with Miami. He wouldn't have worked him out for a couple of days, prior to the media getting wind, if he wasn't seriously interested.

Mike Conley Sr is doing his due diligence by checking out other offers, but Riley is hard to pass up.

I think they are just feeling out the waters with trying to see what they can get. But the thing is.. if i was Oden i wouldn't buy into the Pelicans pitch of "staying out of the spotlight". Esp if he wants to get a better contract later in his career. EVERYONE knows the story of Greg Oden. Noone is expecting him to come in and be a dominant center. But playing in miami where he has a minimal role and being effective (with Lebron and wade giving him bunny shots.. like the birdman got), "that spotlight" will do wonders for his career over time.

Also... I personally believe he is going to produce and have an impact... Riley saw something in Oden in those workouts to make him interested... to a point where he is bypassing some of the other centers in the league. For example: Didn't talk to Dalembert, no indications of pursuing Mosgov.. we have literally not been linked to any other center besides Oden. (Camby doesn't count.. cuz he's just literally has one leg in and one leg in retirement).

you have to understand these guys pay their agents so that they don't make snap decisions like this

even tho it may be the right decision, you pay your agent (partly) to eliminate all emotional from business dealings

Having had an AGENT in my career negotiate a job assignment for me, I only used that agent to leverage me more money..THAT'S IT. I didn't care about the assignment, I cared about "Market Value" for my services.

I understand what you are attempting to say.....BUT my feelings and comments go beyond Gregg Oden.....It's really to all those FAKE AZZ FA's that continue to use MIAMI as leverage for monetary gain. IMO- seams like the word on the street is, "show some interest in Miami, cause you know the league doesn't like Miami, in order to get a better deal"

Maybe, just maybe we did not make an offer, of which I say ..BULL S H I T - Pat Riley wants this dude...IMO _ Don't get it twisted, I'd like to have ODEN.........BUT ON OUR TERMS...NOT HIS AND HIS AGENTS.

We're a Porsche/Ferrari(B2B Champs), looking on the CHEVY LOT for spare parts....

During game 6-7 when all the light were bright and all the excitement was in the air, ODEN. BILLUps and SAM the SHAM all said they want to consider MIAMI....as soon as July 10th came, what happened...so far? They want the excitement ON THEIR TERMS...

Ray Allen and Shane Battier negotiated like professionals and I'm sure increased their marketability after they retire.

p.s. IF Lebron and Wade wants Riley to dance with this dude.....Then let's Dance...but I aint(do not) gotta(have to) like it..

Just noticed all week you keep saying you don't care for Oden, don't care about any moves the Heat make this offseason, and that your last post on the subject will be your last post. It amused me. Same dog in the fight though. On that you are correct.

New Orleans Pelicans have not extended free agent center Greg Oden a contract offer yet

By John Reid, NOLA.com | The Times Picayune
July 19, 2013 at 8:07 PM, updated July 19, 2013 at 8:33 PM

LAS VEGAS -- The New Orleans Pelicans have not extended a contract offer to unrestricted free agent center Greg Oden yet, but they are expected to meet with him next week in Indianapolis, according to league sources Friday night.

The Pelicans are definitely interested in Oden, though, and were scheduled to meet with him this past Wednesday in Las Vegas, but the meeting was canceled after Oden returned home to Indianapolis...

...Sources say the Pelicans are willing to offer Oden a potential one-year deal, which would include incentive bonuses, that could raise the value of the contract to $3 million.

It's not so big a deal that he hasn't signed yet. If he can get more money from another team then this process has worked out for him. Im sure he thinks about his bad luck and constant rehab. It probably makes a lot of sense to make the most of this and see what he can get. He doesn't owe the Heat anything. However he could sign with us, play small minutes, try to stay healthy, and try to win a ring.

For those that question Riley, this is the best example of how Riley negotiates.

This is how I feel about this ish....

If he signs - Great, would be a nice off-season move but wouldn't get my hopes up as he either helps us win being a huge factor but then bolts next year for more $ or turns out decent, but nothing jaw-dropping or heck worst case, is still a bum

If he doesn't sign - No biggie. I wish him the best

And that's a good way to look at it. We just won back to back chips without a great center. We will be fine. A healthy team come playoff time is a hard team to beat.

Well we actually won without a center. We played a two small forward and a powerforward system.

Here's what i think about the situation with Oden.

Would he work out here? I'll say 60% yes. The combination of less pressure/mins/limited duty/ +++ warm weather is gonna do wonders for his body.

Does the heat need him? No. Want him? Somewhat. Its always better to have a true big center than not. It'll make the a super versatile team even more versatile. A unit of Bron/Wade/Battier/Bosh/Oden is huge, and playing zone 10mins a game will save some energy on the defensive end along the season.

Yet.

Will Riley show his interest more? I'll say no. That'll just make other teams more eager to grab Oden. I believe Riley's approval of a player's state is somewhat of a benchmark across the league, and i think he has already laid down his bottomline to oden's camp. He is just waiting for the market to dry up.

My hunch? I think Oden will be a heatle in the end. So just hold our dismay towards him, he is only try to look after himself :)
