Boston rooting for Nets, kill Miami, player feedback

Post#1 » by OldCeltics » Fri Jul 19, 2013 9:12 am

I am a Boston Celtics fan. But Paul Pierce is a Celtics lifer and legend. KG brought Boston the 17th championship. I will be following your team, and i hope you accept the fact that we are in this together, to destroy those arrogant uneducated players in Miami.

Nets came from Jersey, in Brooklyn, so in a way you are a new team with new fans. Now you have hired guns from Boston in Pierce/KG. Adding ak-47 the Nets are by far the most talented team in the NBA. I'm from Russia, so i know Prokorov is a man of his word. He is a shrewd business man. He will get things done by any means possible.

I will leave you with some feedback on the 3 Celtics players. Jason Terry is not a good player, he is a streaky shooter, and no longer the 6th man we expect in Dallas. Trust me i have followed his career. KG got a lot left in the tank. Bottom line he bring a new element to a team, defense, intensity, and leadership. Pierce last year in playoffs shot 40%, but it was in part because of multiple injuries, and in part because Rondo went down, and they didn't have the players to win. Pierce is a warrior, and will play through injuries, but keeping his minutes down, and he has to come to camp in shape. He always starts off slow, and then explodes mid-season.

Russian Mafia style

Yeh, i just did a poll on Celtics board, and at least 60%+ said they would watch the Nets next season to support Pierce/KG.

I expect Terry to be fantastic here. it is a completely different role then in boston. he wont need to handle the ball and he wont need to create offense. he will just need to hit open shots, which, despite being poor overall, he did at a very good rate last season.

I'm still confused guys...I don't recognize my Nets team anymore...I have no idea how all these "star" players are going to mesh...AK-47 a backup ? Pierce and JJ on the court with Deron and guys like Lopez, Garnett and Blatche up front.

Plumlee, Toko, Taylor and Evans might as well stay home most games.

And I have a feeling Billy King is not done dealing yet.

This has to be one of the most interesting NBA teams ever assembled.

Will it work ?...Does it really matter ?

I think Pierce is still feeling out of place with the Nets and in shock from being dealt by his Celtics. KG will adapt and Terry has been on a few teams now so that's why he seemed the most optimistic.

I think Celtics fans who will root for Pierce/KG/Nets need to do something special for them to know they're still loved by you guys. Maybe this is too much over the top, but it would be awesome to have a "Celtics fans for Nets" (like Craig Carton's "Mets fans for Yank-ees!") at a few home games, where you can have a bunch of C's fans show up and get their own section to root for those players.

I think it would have a huge impact on these guys and inspire them to give their best knowing their previous fan base still have their support. I know this kind of goes against sports-fan theory, but I really believe you can be just as big of a fan of a player(s) as you can of a franchise.

He wasn't handling the ball in Boston. He barely ran any pg it was more C.Lee & Twill who ran the ball handler role. We ran offense for him didn't work too good & we let him create his own.. That didn't work too well either.

Some nights Jet will be hot & go 6-8, other nights 1-9. It's just the way he his. & Yeah he better of shot open shots lol. Dude's up there in the 3pt rankings. He's funny, great guy & leader, just terrible streaky & inconsistent.

Anyways.. Best of luck. I'm rooting for BKN 78 out of 82 games this year.

Man, I can't express what I'm feeling for Paul and KG. I'm gonna be pumped up watching the Nets battle the Heat in the Conference Finals. Just go for it guys, you gotta win it.

we might not face them in the conference finals, or at all. the heat and nets could be the 2/3 seeds or the 1/4 seeds and play each other in round 2. hell indiana could concievably knock off miami before the nets would face them.

unlike last year its not a lock the heat have the 1 seed

I think we're tanking, will be rooting for you guys, when u aren't playing us of course, cause I don't think we're gonna be in a position to beat out Miami next season...

As long as you can get to the playoffs healthy, I ain't even worried about the Heat, or any other team in the East for that matter. Good luck.
Good assessment:

I wonder what PP and KG were thinking when they saw Ray Allen hit that big shot to which led to a game 7 and a championshiop ring?
My guess is that both guys will do everything they can to win another championship in Brooklyn. They know this is really it and imo will be realy and go all out...

Return to Brooklyn Nets
