TT's leverage in negotiations with Shields next off season:

TT seems pretty intent on making Raji play out is final year. That's smart. Raji has been unbelievably inconsistent since his stellar 2010 campaign. I wouldn't be surprised if GB signs EDS, Jones and Neal before Raji gets his money. He needs to prove he can be effective for an entire year.

Another thing to keep your eye on is Tramon Williams. He's been...underwhelming the past couple of seasons since getting his big contract in 2010. He's due $7.2 MILLION in 2014. If he can't pick his game up this year, I wouldn't be surprised if he's let go, freeing up some cap space to sign guys like Raji and Finley, possibly Ryan Pickett.

Good point about Tramon. I could definitely see him being cut if he plays like he has the last two years and I'd be fine with it. Rather have Shields than Tramon.

I think even if he bounces back he could be cut or forced to restructure, that is a lot of money.

House, Shields, Hayward, and possibly now Hyde. That's a lot of H's. Hyde is a tad slow by he was playing well in mini-camp.

Tramon is not due 14m in 2014. He'll have a 6.9m base and a 9.5 cap hit. Still a lot and he's still probably on the hot seat, but 14m would make it automatic.

You're right. I think I got his contract confused with Woodson's old one.

An interview with Tramon about a month ago - he stated the nerve was finally healed and he felt great. I think he's gonna have a great year. But good point about Williams age and contract and rest of CBs - anyone have an off year and their likely gone, I hope we resign Shields and everybody plays well and stays. CB is one position I like depth.
