Remember when ...

Post#1 » by Da_Kidd » Sat Jul 20, 2013 3:00 am

In light of the roster change for the upcoming season, it must feel awfully gratifying for a fan to have stuck through the good and mostly the bad Nets seasons.

We've had some awful players suit up for the Nets. Name someone that you remember was god awful to watch.

Remember JABARI SMITH #55. Brutal.

Josh Boone was awful to watch, especially from the line.

Yi Jianlian, Sundiata Gaines, Travis Outlaw (how did he not get mentioned within the first two posts?), Johan Petro, Bobby Simmons...

Pretty much everyone on that 2010 team that went 12-70 outside of Harris and Lopez.

Lamond Murray and his Cal connection with Kidd.

Rodney Buford given the green light to shoot.

CDR aka the black hole.

Eric Williams was Travis Outlaw before Travis Outlaw.

Scott Padgett and that ugly beard. Almost as ugly as his shot.

Tamar Slay, Trenton Hassell, Bobby Simmons, Antoine Wright, Marcus Williams, Hassan Adams, just to name a few.

It's definitely a good time to be a Nets fan these days. It's even sweeter when you stick through your team sucking, and to see the potential we have this year and how far this franchise has come in every aspect.

My least favorite Nets players over the past 10 years:

Stephen Graham
Johan Petro
Courtney Lee
Bobby Simmons
Travis Outlaw

---

That 04-05 team Pre-Vince Carter was DREADFUL. J-Kidd was still out after having Microfracture surgery during the offseason... and THIS was our starting 5:

Alonzo Mourning
Jason Collins
Eric Williams
Richard Jefferson
Jacque Vaughn

Then you have Rodney Buford, Travis Best, Zoran Planinic and Jabari Smith as main bench guys.

Good lord.

Not even close. Eric Williams was pretty serviceable for us before getting traded to Toronto.

Avery had a love affair with Stephen Graham

Btw my least favorite Nets player i remember watching was Courtney Lee . We had alot of awful players here but they at least tried , Lee on the other hand just oozed distain . Combine that with the 12-70 season i can't stand the guy and will allways dislike him for that. I would've HATED to take him take in the trade. That SoB Zo at least landed us Vince and what did we get for Courtney Lee ? Troy **** Murphy.

Seriously, reading through the names in this thread:
Image

I'd like to add Anthony Johnson wasn't that amazing for us either and after a few seasons in Indiana, he had the monster series against Kidd.

Surprised not many mentions of Yinka Dare or some 90s Nets.

What would the All-Franchise Low Point team be, based on this thread?

PG - Sundiata Gaines/Marcus Williams
SG - Ron Mercer/Rodney Buford/Antoine Wright/Courtney Lee
SF - Travis Outlaw/Tamar Slay/Stephen Graham/Bobby Simmons
PF - Yi Jianlian/Troy Murphy/Malik Allen
C - Johan Petro/Jamaal Magloire

Apologies to Trenton Hassell/Lamond Murray/Chris Douglas-Roberts/Jordan Farmar/etc...they just missed the cut.
