Is Goran Dragic a good defender?

Post#1 » by Revived » Sat Jul 20, 2013 8:29 am

What do you guys think?

Ever since the Bledsoe trade, we have heard of how Dragic is good enough defensively that he can guard SGs.

Maybe its just me but I thought Dragic wasn't that good defensively last year. I thought opposing PGs torched him on most nights. I can't think of many PGs that struggled against Dragic last season.

Now granted that defense is a team effort and Goran didn't have much help on that end other than Tucker but still, how do you think Goran's individual defense was?

My opinion is that Dragic will be better at defending SGs then PGs.

Also Dragic and Bledsoe both get a high number of steals. I think that backcourt will cause trouble to a lot of teams and improve our fast break offense.

He seems to be good at playing the passing lanes, which might come in handy if he's guarding players other than the PG.

He is between mediocre and "OK"....

IMO...

But he had (has) potential to be OK and above.

Yes, he is a good defender. In my opinion he is above average defender, very crafty and plays with extreme effort.

IMO, top 5 PG defender in the league. A very aggressive defender. All around, a smart player.

What?!

You think he's better than Rondo, Beverely, Bledsoe, Lowry, Wall, Westbrook?

Are you kidding me?

Dragic is a solid defender, I think last year was a bit of an aberration for him defensively because he had to exert so much effort on the offensive end to score and create for others. He's no all-defensive type, but he doesn't hurt you.

I hope your right cause he will be defending SGs anyway.
