Given the eighth pick again, do you draft KCP?
Having seen summer action etc., knowing what you know now - would you draft KCP again, or another player?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Trade it for #14 and #21.
But more than anything, I kick the players in the nads for winning the pointless games at the end of the season that cost us McLemore.

I'd rather wait until the regular season starts to make such assessment.

I would probably still take KCP.
If not, I would trade for 14&21 and take Schroeder and Hardaway Jr

Anyone who would draw a conclusion on KCP from summer league is a flat out moron.
If you simply preferred a different player, I understand that. But, if anyone has changed their opinion because of summer league? Well, you must be huge Austin Daye fans.
I'd take KCP again in a heart beat. Shoots well, fantastic effort on defense and NBA size and speed.

Not wouldn't be a bad combination in that event. Not sure if I'd take Hardaway Jr or Snell/Bullock.

yep. Schroeder/Bullock wouldn't have been bad, but Schroeder has a reputation as a bit of a headcase and Bullocks going to be a solid player in the league but KCP has a higher ceiling imo.

My opinion has changed for the better for KCP.

I'd rather stick with KCP for his overall play and potential, but I really liked what I've seen out of CJ McCollum.

Just based on his defense and not really anything offensively. Offense will fluxuate at the next level more than D. And I liked the D.

Re: Given the eighth pick again, do you draft KCP?
I like the KCP pick and thought he was a strong possibility if certain players were gone by 8. Certainly thought CJ McCollum should have been taken over KCP but I won't complain.
Definitely would have been happy to take Burke and swap it for the 14th and 21st. These are the players I would loved to have taken... any 2 of these players: Tim Hardaway Jr, Sergey Karesev, Reggie Bullock, and Gorgui Deng (in no particular order)

Re: Given the eighth pick again, do you draft KCP?
I will play along for fun,but I wouldnt judge until the end of next season, but ill play the game.As of now and seeing what ive seen out of summer league I would still go with KCP,I still have faith in burke and I like MCW,but KCP is still a good pick and after I got over not getting burke and giving KCP a chance Iam really likeing him.Iam also interseted in hardaway jr,and zeller he will turn out 1 of the better players from this draft.

I'd definitely pick him again. But this thread is pretty pointless right now, wait until we actually see this draft class play in the NBA.

Or tell Marcus Smart he would have been the 2nd pick if he'd stayed in the draft.

I think this post would be more relevant at the conclusion of next season.
We'll see.
