PG - Sundiata Gaines/Marcus Williams
SG - Ron Mercer/Rodney Buford/Antoine Wright/Courtney Lee
SF - Travis Outlaw/Tamar Slay/Stephen Graham/Bobby Simmons
PF - Yi Jianlian/Troy Murphy/Malik Allen
C - Johan Petro/Jamaal Magloire

Apologies to Trenton Hassell/Lamond Murray/Chris Douglas-Roberts/Jordan Farmar/etc...they just missed the cut.

Good lord. This post will give me nightmares.

Who remembers Marcus Williams?

Or Sean Williams?

Or Mile Illic?

Its astonishing how bad Thorn was at drafting.

Can't really fault Thorn on those three. I mean THorn failed pretty badly on quite a few (Planinic, Wright, T-Will).

Marcus Williams was a projected lottery pick that fell to #23 (I think, to lazy to google it)... he had to take a waiver on him.

Sean Williams oozed potential... and even though there were a few that were upset with his selection like I was (I wanted Splitter) this was a low risk, high reward type of selection.

Mile Ilic was a 2nd round pick.

I became a Nets fan around 04 or 05. A few nights ago I played a game with a friend where I had to name players from a team from a certain season. We got to the 12-70 Nets and jesus christ I swear my hate grew as I remember the players on that team.
12-70. Never Forget. Moment of silence for all the fans lost during that battle.

#24 Kyle Lowry

#23 Josh Boone
#22 Marcus Williams

#21 Rajon Rondo

Dodged a couple of bullets on that one

Thorn had 2 good Drafts in his reign for us. 2001 when he drafted RJ , Twin and Scalabrine and 2008 when he drafted Brook and Ryan Anderson ( who he later traded away :( ) .

The rest of it is full of awefulness and busts.

Edit: Ok he also drafted K-Mart forgot about that.

Edit edit : ok he also drafted Krstic in 2002 which was a great pick ...

LOL.

The 2001 draft was brilliance.

Lopez pick was no brainer as was the K-Mart one.

So 2001 and 2002 were good drafts. After that he LOST IT.

He didn't draft RJ or Collins in 2001. He traded Eddie Griffin (RIP) for them IIRC.

Yeah BUT i never count what was drafted but what teams end up with . If Thorn actually wanted Griffin ( he didn't i've read a interview about that ) he would've kept him.

Yeah but he made those trades, so I give him full credit for getting RJ, Collins, Armstrong.

Pretty sure he told the Rockets which players he wanted.

Johan Petro was by far my least favorite.. gotta put Zoran Planinic, Travis Outlaw, Josh Boone, Yi Jianlian, Bobby Simmons, and Antoine Wright on the list.

A few of the non-star guys i liked over the years.. Lucious Harris, Aaron Williams, Mikki Moore, Boki Nachbar, Sean Williams.

Should've been RJ, Collins and Arenas.

What could've been. Arenas would've been perfect off the bench for the Finals teams.
