Assists went from 5.7, 4.8, 5.5, 6.5. I don't know if I'd call one season an uptrend but I consider his passing skills pretty below average for a point guard. So does pretty much every analyst. Reference the above video.

His defense has gotten progressively worse every season. How do you explain that? The explosive upside is something that it seems like only a couple of people can reason. I just don't see it.

It once again goes back to my opinion that this guy is a shooting guard in a 6'1" 160 some pound body. He has to change around his entire game to reach this potential you speak of. He's also a risk Milwaukee has already taken and it's failed miserably so I don't see why they want to re-up that risk.

4.8 to 5.5 to 6.5 is an uptrend. 6.5 was also good enough for 16th in the League, a step behind Lawson/Curry and just ahead of Lillard/Lowry/Conley. Usually they guys are considered above average, even by this board.

Sometimes you guys use stats to justify what you want to see, which is very common in statistics.

Calling him a SG is silly. He just has poor shot selection.

I think his defense got worse as the team proved they wouldn't be a winner. He's better than he was as a young player simply by getting stronger, but also fell into bad gambling habits and lazy closeouts. All correctable by a good coach.

How about a 3 team trade:

To Boston: Omer Asik

To Milwaukee: Jeremy Lin, Jeff Green, Future 1st round pick via Houston

To Houston: Brandon Jennings, Ersan Ilyasova

Sold (if I'm Houston)!

this is it in a nutshell.

i hate jennings game but for 4 years hoped beyond hope it would improve. it really didnt.... just his attitude got worse. at this point i really think his future is probably big money in china followed by a north american reunion tour with the globetrotters. thats where this kids persona and game going longterm. the idea he'd be willing and/or able to play a smaller salaried role on a contender is laughable to me.

BOS will not do anything to add wins to their team this yr.

That team looks like the 7th or 8th seed to me. No thanks!

Trade Ersan to the Spurs for a late first, sign and trade Jennings for whatever you can get, sign Dominique Jones to backup Mayo, and let Wolters and Giannis get some solid back up minutes. That team is definitely bottom 7.

I really don't think Asik adds any wins for them.

I'm less of a stat guy than you might think (the analytic guys here will destroy me) but Jennings overall stats just substantiate the eye test. Just because someone's in the minority doesn't always make them wrong but in the case of Jennings and this board; the majority of the posters on this board are very knowledgeable and die hard Bucks fans, and almost every one of them agrees on Jennings game.

He doesn't pass the eye test or the statistical data. And calling him a point guard who only needs a couple of slight changes to become a star is silly. He's a chucker. I would say there is a 90% chance he is what he is, a 5% chance that he regresses considerably, and a 5% chance that he gets considerably better.

Neither do I, but they would only do that if they were not happy with Green long-term. That being said I don't like the trade for the Bucks> I like more of the 2 team trade as such:

MIL gets-Lin, Asik, Jones, Papa rights, 2014 1st(probably don't get all of the last 3 but I would go for 2 anyway)

HOU gets-Ilyasova, Udoh, Jennings

I think Houston would be crazy to say no to this, I think that deal puts them 1 or 2 in the West. The Bucks flip Asik for w/e they can get.

A late 1st for Ersan is horrible value, even for a hack like Hammond.

Explosive upside? Please define 'explosive'.

If you mean literally...athletically...you're wrong. People wanna talk about Brandon's quickness. Fact is, he isn't that quick at all with the ball in his hands. He has difficulty getting past his guy, and when he does, so what? He either throws some garbage up at the rim and misses, or gets his sh*t blocked. God knows he doesn't drive to set up his teammates.

Dude is junk.

The guy played "me" basketball in a CONTRACT YEAR. He played like garbage in a CONTRACT YEAR. He had a terrible attitude in a CONTRACT YEAR.

Yet, you don't think there will be any issue with him once he gets paid?

Trading Ersan and BJ for Green and Lin moves you into 7th or 8th?

Lin & Ridnour
Mayo & Delfino
Green & Delfino
Henson & Udoh
Sanders & ZaZa

Outside of losing Ersan at the 4, the guards are more efficient and small forward is upgraded. The Bucks got the 8th seed last season and the above team is better than last years team IMO. I think Sanders makes a slight jump and Henson makes a slightly bigger jump, and even if you don't like Green he's much better than Moute and Daniels.

I can think of one reason why this would be a good move. It would mean we bring back The Mo Williams Show!

I don't think Jennings has a contract year risk to him. His risk is that he doesn't improve.

Jennings has to big of an ego and wants to be center of attention and actually seems to enjoy playing the game. I don't think Thomas really cared if he was a star or not.
