Greg Oden to Miami?

You know whats Funny I was at the Heat game where he Scored his first NBA points. I had great seats right behind the blazers bench because my dad's client had season tickets. Greg Oden sat in front of me most of the game. He impressed me that game and ever since then i've been sold on him. When Healthy he can play but thats a huge If.

Greg Oden meetings with Pelicans, Kings possible this week, as he continues to gather info. Heat, Mavs, Spurs have already talked w/him.

Greg is making his rounds, which is something he should do. Every team will have a differnt view of him and he should hear it stright from the horses mouth. It could also be huge for his EGO and mind set to hear alot of posivite things before he fully goes out there. I say he has a 70% of landing here. I'm heading to Las Vegas, hopefully I hear a few things from people

i wonder what it means that hes working out for only 3 teams, and the heat for the 2nd time (after riles alrdy worked him out). I mean dallas is still in the running, so is SA, right? Why arent they watching him workout?

I think Greg is only working out for team that have strong reservation about his knee's. I would also guess that Greg can only work out fully a few times a week and if the team wants an interview on a day that he is suppose to rest, the agent won't allow him. It really comes down to where he sees himself and how he wants to be used. Add in if he is chasing money, which to me if he goes with short term dollars, could mean he wants to cash in one more time before the knees go out.

I'll never forget the story my friend told me about Greg Oden. Before Oden went to college, my friend was part of Oden's inner circle of friends. Greg told him before he went to the draft that his knees were killing him and he knew someething was extremly wrong. He went on a veiw workout but they never really made him go through all the Doctor stuff or asked him about his knees, mostly his wrists and feet. He told my friend they couldn't believe they didn't check him out and he knew if he brought it up, it could hurt his stock or deal, so he stayed quiet. Well, the joke is on all those GM's.

According to reports, he will workout for 3 teams, all I'm sure at the same time. I'll also say this...NOTHING EVER GETS OUT! The HEAT are easily one of the best secret keepers in the league. To the point that even if you hear something from a relable source, you question how they got it, since it the HEAT and Riley won't allow anything out. I'm willing to bet, Oden could of done a 5 on 5 workout and no one would of heard about it.

Maybe we watch him in Ohio if that's true then. According to ESPN we and SA remain the favorites, and they're not watching him workout.

GT you're right about our secrecy. I think Conley Jr. initially tried to hide Oden's post-Finals visit. No way he's done 5-on-5 though. Not cleared for that yet.

We already watched him workout a few weeks back, like right after the finals.

Former Miami Heat center Brian Grant remembers seeing the potential.

In the summer of 2009, he worked out for two weeks with Greg Oden. This was before a string of bad luck slowed a once promising career. Now, the question is can Oden regain that form after a series of career-threatening injuries.

If so, then Grant sees no reason why Oden can't once again become an impact player in the NBA. The Miami Heat are among a handful of teams in talks with Oden, who has played only 82 games since being drafted No. 1 overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2007.

"Based on the workouts that I had with him then, he can contribute in this league," Grant said. "I think people looked at him when he came in, he was so big and menacing and you forgot that he was only a 19, 20-year-old kid. Dealing with those injuries, I'm hoping that he does sign with the Heat. If he does, it will give him an opportunity to become what everybody was looking forward to."

I really hope all of this doesn't mean we've dropped out the oden race and began pursuing camby, I doubt it though..

doubt it, im not sure we are ACTUALLY going after camby, despite reports....
