Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
Apparently his first move was to open up talks with Roma about De Rossi.
Greatest gif I've ever seen.

Love it. Hopefully he will lead us back to competing for the league. We need a few moves, but Mou is the first step back to greatness

I really hope he isn't planning on getting rid of David Luiz as rumoured

He mentioned Luiz's name as one of the young players he's looking forward to working with. Wouldn't bet on him leaving based on that comment.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
I would hope so, he seems to be the type of player Mourinho would like to work with given his skill sets and tendencies. Which is why I find the rumours odd but you never know with Jose

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
It would make no sense to get rid of Luiz. He is our best defender and he is very versatile.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
Malouda, Ferreira, Turnbull, Hilario and Benayoun all released
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... i-Benayoun
Glad that Yossi is gone but sad to see Malouda and Ferreira gone, the two have been loyal servants to the club and I feel especially for Malouda who has been treated quite unfairly this past year
Hopefully we can get a proper back-up keeper now too

I really hope all these rumours about Luiz and Mata are rubbish. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
assuming everyone is fit and fully rested, it would be very interesting to see who mou would be as the front 4 starters in a very big game out of torres, ba, lukaku, mata, hazard, oscar, debrunye, schurle and moses. 9 players, 4 starting spots, unless oscar or debruyne are deployed deeper in the midfield.
similar question for the pivot (assuming 4-2-3-1) - who would you prefer between ramires, essien, lamps, mikel and van ginkel. 5 players, 2 starting spots.
and your back 4?
what would your best XI?
depth sure is nice.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
I was fortunate enough to be in Thailand for the first pre-season game. Managed to get to an open training session too. The young lads look immense... and it was nice to see the older lads interacting with them on the training pitch.
The KDB injury doesn't look too bad apparently, but he's back on an overnighter to London to get a scan. He was walking about at half time without much of a limp, so hopefully nothing CL related. Being a Bulls fan, I've had enough of that for at least the next decade.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
So will mou move for Sami if Vidal really is joining Real to take his place?

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?

He said he won't sign any more central midfielders while ruling out a De Rossi bid. He will be rotating Lampard, Ramires, Van Ginkel, Mikel, and Essien with attacking midfielders like De Bruyne and Oscar also being options. Not the greatest, but at least the depth is there unlike last year.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
If we were to sign another midfielder it would be De Rossi, but from his recent interview Mourinho says that this window is now 'Rooney or bust'.
Which I am fully against, I don't think I would want a whiny, out of form, out of shape, over valued, expensive striker. We already have one

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
I would much rather have De Rossi than Rooney. Rooney will simply cost too much.
