While I suspected he did it all along and you wish they would just be upfront about it, that's not going to happen with the money at stake.

And if you're going to play the deny game, you're not going to tell your teammates the truth. As much as you trust them, you can't trust them THAT much.

Yep, I don't care about the PED's, but Braun's done just about everything he could to make this worse for himself, and the franchise.

He wanted to protect his marketing power, so rather than just run "no comment" into the ground, he came out guns blazing, and trumpeting around his innocence. After the initial turmoil last season, things would have gone much better for him if he'd just kept his head down and shut up.

As a bonus gut punch, the MLB gets to boast about catching their white whale, and we've lost whatever chance there was for serious criticism of the disgusting way they handled things.

The simple answer is, Passan is awful. He can use anonymous players that he probably didn't even talk to to agree with his fake outrage.

Exactly. You guys need to know that Passan has been on a mission against Braun for a long, long time. I'm not saying this isn't possibly true but I don't trust the source.

I doubt we will ever learn more but I would like to know what he took and when. I really don't think HGH is a big deal and fully expect it to be prescribed to the masses in 20 years. If its horse tranqs I'm not as cool with it.

I strongly believe that a LOT of people in the NFL, NBA, and MLB are on HGH as there are no tests outside of blood tests for it and none of the unions allow blood testing (though football will shortly).

MLB handled this horribly and I really want someone to challenge them publicly. Their GMen tactics are insane and I hope yhey come to light.

Instead it seems like they are leaning on guys like Nelson Cruz who is a FA next year and can't have this continuing into his offseason.

I agree Passan is an idiot - truthfully, there aren't many MLB writers I actually like - but this is more believable than unbelievable at this point.

I don't think that the content of the tweet - that the clubhouse was mad - was in dispute, just the manner in which he got the information given that the clubhouse was closed and the game was still in progress at that time.

Wanna know the most pathetic "journalist" I found weighing in on this last night? Dickie Vitale.

It's bad enough that he's unlistenable for basketball commentary given his love of Duke; but his commentary and fake outrage on Twitter is downright sad.

As I said before, any journalist who truly believed Braun was clean before this was living in some sort of candy land naive world. Which is why so much of what I'm seeing right now is probably more fake outrage than anything.

Contra Passan's sketchy tweet, saw interviews with Lucroy and Yo and Axford and Gorzelanny. None of them were all that "angry", much less evidencing "almost universal anger" from the clubhouse. Lucroy was like you forgive and move on, all of us make mistakes. Yo, Braun's milb roommate, said he still doesn't think Braun used peds and said it's over we move on.

The media indignation is ridiculous. I suppose, what else are they going to say. People love to be righteously indignant, esp national sportswriters.

I was on Braun's side after the first allegation, mainly due to how he really excelled the following year (sans Fielder). I was surely duped. I'm glad I can still enjoy games this year, I'm not sure how I'll feel about next season. I suppose we'll see if any details emerge that may change my opinion, but I'm not holding my breath.

What does it say if he comes back next season and puts up MVP caliber numbers, completely clean? I thought that's what we assumed he did in 2012. I wish we had more details.
