If he can get his FG% back up to around 50% he becomes much more valuable and worth starters minutes next to Vucevic. This isn't out of the question either so really a great signing.

Max is not a scorer. He usually camps about 8-15 feet from basket for open jumpers or setting picks. You don't count on him to score. I see him scoring 4pts with 8 boards all the time, but still play 30 minutes. He is more of a utility player. But, valuable for his smarts and positioning. He makes other players better by setting them up to score and board. This is why Monroe got such good stats.

So Vucevic will be an all star next season if Max gets significant time on the floor with him?

I'm not asking for scoring just efficiency. Your prototypical banging 4 shoots around 50% from the field on low usage, Maxiell did this in 4/8 seasons and actually averages ~50% FG% over his career.

I leave it up to you guys to interpret my thoughts.

But, if Max and BBD are ever on the floor together, it could get entertaining. Because, they are both a little chunky and neither are exactly proficient with their offense. At least the defense would be good. But, if they paired up with Ola, Harris and Meer for a few minutes, then you could see some interesting basketball.

Yup, we did. 2 years contract with the second year non-guaranteed. Here's the link to the official announcement on the Magic's website:

Good pick-up. You can tell a lot of our fans think the NBA's just a game of NBA 2K. You need veterans on your team. Mature vets. It's important to have guys in place to show these 19-24 year olds we have on our team, how to be men. Maxiell is definitely one of those guys. Keep building a tough, no nonsense culture Henny.

Maxiell Ready To Mentor Youngsters

I still think I would've preferred Brandan Wright (he brings quite a few of the same things to the table), but at the contract terms he signed at, I think it was a good signing for the Magic.
