Ryan Braun is not what he is because of testosterone supplements, this mass hysteria over "steroids" has to end. As for the Brewers, why would they try to get rid of a top 10 player like Braun, he hasn't even turned 30 yet and that contract is relatively good value for a player of his caliber.

You're ascribing totally transformative results to something that, in the context of baseball, cannot turn men into supermen.
And in your j'accuse! post about Gomez, you also fail to recognize the number of plate appearances. In 2011, he hit a home run every 32.3 PAs. In 2012, he hit a home run every 23.8 PAs. In 2013, he's hitting one every 24.7 PAs. That's not a massive spike, and given that Gomez was a 6'4" scarecrow in his early days in the bigs, it perhaps shouldn't be a shock that he started hitting for decent power in his mid 20s.

**** your asterisk.

What about in the minors? He's on something.

Nothing to elaborate, other than helping build muscle mass faster than regular strength training and making it easier to recover from injuries i haven't encountered a single scientific finding that says the PED'S that baseball players take actually help.
Muscle mass and faster recovery from injuries are a big deal but ethically i have zero problem with it, the players with the most talent and work ethic will still be the best players with or without the "steroids" .

Gomez's only two seasons in the minors were at age 19 and 20. Tall, skinny players often don't mash when they're tall, skinny and teenaged. Alex Rios had an even more pronounced jump around 22, only it didn't arouse much suspicion because scouts had been waiting for it since the day he signed.

I think the proof we need is to see if a guy can keep it up once he's clean. Is Andy Pettitte one guy? Muscle mass and recovery could be exactly why a particular guy is as good as he is. I venture to guess Ryan Braun won't be mvp material again.

Yeah, I'm upset. But since I'm in a keeper league, it's probably better he gets fully healthy and can dominate again next year.

The faux moral outrage over PED use in sports whenever stuff like this comes up is always quite amusing to me. Maybe one day it won't be like this, but clearly not any time soon.

If the pressure doesn't come from within, things won't get better. A clubhouse fight is the best cure

It's hard to say how good Braun is. He's likely been juicing his whole career, including the minors.
And it's also not smart to assume Braun is just taking your basic "steroid" and assuming it just helps you grow muscle and recover.
