Matt Winer will host the two-hour special with analyst Dennis Scott and reporter David Aldridge.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll tape that.

Here's my homer prediction: the coaches will LOVE having Drummond around. They'll also notice that while he's raw, that he's very coachable and is a very fast learner. He'll improve a lot from game to game in his execution. They will also see that he brings the perfect package on defense - the ability to cover any center in the international game - from beefy Gasol (I'm saying that in a totally non-gay way - not that there's anything wrong with that) to faster centers and forwards.

I think they'll see that he's a guy they want on the Olympic team because nobody else in the league except Dwight Howard can do what he can do, and they'll predict that he'll be ready by then. That will put Drummond seriously in the mix for 2016 and 2020.

I think they'll drop Cousins. He's got the deserved reputation of being an impossible, uncoachable player.

Monroe could fit because he's so damn versatile, and the team could use a big man they can run the offense through. I can't predict if he'll beat out the guys he's up against. You can be a great pro and not make this team. It's all about fit for Greg, and who knows who fits best.

This is unwatchable. Every two seconds they switch over to a close up of some player or the bench or the analysts. I want to watch the game not some guy standing around doing nothing...

Agreed.

The one tidbit I picked up was that they think Drummond's going to be given a very serious look. There really isn't any young player in the league who could match up with Gasol or Val, except Drummond. The US team needs shot blockers. I doubt DeAndre Jordon will end up being rated more highly.
