The difference is 5 years of a max contract vs 1 year of a 4.5 million contract + 4 years of a max contract. I don't know how I can debate anything with a person who doesn't know the groundwork of the situation. Even in the scenario, George wouldn't be the face of the franchise, that role would belong to James or Anthony (who both have a significantly higher chance of going to LA than George). I really do not see how you can imply that I'm struggling with this when you do not know how contracts work.

Also,

& no he wouldnt take significantly more money in LA. He will get a max contract, just not a 5th year. The off court money he would make as a face of the Lakers in media market #2 would easily off set his 5th year Indy could give him so really money isnt a big deal.

I never said anything about the Lakers having nothing to trade so I don't know why you put that there. I never said he would take significantly more money in LA so I don't know why you put that there. You also said George is not about the money, but if he were to leave Indiana for LA because of the endorsements...wouldn't that mean he's about the money? George has never been one to be about the spotlight, he was heavily recruited to go to Georgetown, but instead opted to go to the small D-II Fresno State. He wouldn't leave Indiana for LA to all of a sudden become the center of attention. It seems as though you are quite confused at the moment.

Again, all this comes back to the fact that you are exaggerating the importance of "It will be hard to turn down playing with Kobe" when the entire article was George stating that he loves Indiana. Just picking at straws here man.

Still waiting on an example of a player passing up a max contract for the QO.

Man, ive seen you argue with other people but you're relentless. lol

Just so we are clear because you havent yet picked up on this, I clearly understand that if he stays in Indy he will resign a 5 year max extension next Summer, if he chooses to leave, he will either push for a trade next Summer (unlikely) or he will play out his contract with the QO & then sign a 4 year max agreement with a new team the next Summer. In the event that is the Lakers he will easily make up that extra year (in his Laker 4 yr max vs Pacers 5 yr max) & money off the court so really the only difference would be giving up a year by playing out his QO & in LA he could probably make up the money he will lost by taking the QO as well so its really not even about the money. Its all about if he wants to leave or not. Him signing with another team is not a possibility next Summer because obviously the Pacers would match anything. Just so were clear, this is the contract situation, so lets not discuss this again lol

Im a GTown fan, you slightly exaggerated the GTown recruitment but it doesnt really matter.

Again, we have a difference of opinion which im cool with & I hope you can accept. Its not hard at all to see a way PG ends up in LA. Its also not hard to see him just staying in a good situation in Indy.

I honestly can't think of a player passing on a max deal to take the QO. Anthony and Lebron eventually signed an extension with their "small market" teams while under their rookies so trying to use them in George's situation is a poor example. All this seems to me is Clarity trying to reach for a reason to diminish the Pacers future.

lol oy vey, I couldnt give a crap less about Indy's future. Im a Piston fan lol

I just really think PG is going to end up in LA, it makes way too much sense. On the Lakers end im not sure PG is going to go from very good All Star to mega star but hes probably going to be the best wing option they can get because Melo & Lebron arent going to LA.

Good for you, but theres not a chance the Pacers let him become a rfa.

The last offseason Harden was talking about playing with the Phoenix Sun because he played in college in Arizona. You know what he did after he got traded to Houston? He signed his max extension with them. No agent in their right mind would let a max player take the risk and take the qualifying offer.

lol

I will be a little surprised if he doesnt even entertain it but I get taking the money & again, its not like Indy is a bad look. Hibbert is young too & its a good bball city.

If Drummond pans out Indy wont matter with respect to us anyways.

It all depends on Drummond TBH, if he becomes Dwight Howard pt. 2 or better then we will make the ECF sooner rather than later.
