Vote: Chris Paul

Best PG in the game, and it's not even close. No PG in the league has his combination of court vision, scoring ability, leadership, BBIQ, and defense. The only guy left that I'd take over him is a fully healthy Dwight Howard at the top of his game, and I'm not ready to give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll be back at that level just yet.

Nominate: Stephen Curry

Wade and Kobe are legit nominees...but I think Curry was better than both last year, and Kobe is coming off a major injury, no telling how he'll bounce back really. Wade looked washed up as hell in the playoffs, he might see a significant decline this year.

Decent list, but Melo belongs up there and Paul Geroge isn't there yet.

1. LeBron
2. Durant
3. Kobe
4. Chris Paul
5.Duncan
6. Melo
7. Parker
8. Westbrook
9. Wade
10. Harden.

If they're all healthy Wade is probably 4 or 5, Rose around 6 and Dwight 3-5.

paul george???

the same paul george that shot 41% from the floor, had a 52 TS%, a 16.8 PER, 4:3 assist to turnover ratio and scored just 17 points on 15 shot attempts?

that is just absurd.

Nominate: Deron Williams

The dropoff from the 2nd best player to 3rd to me is massive. CP3 is a great player, but for all this talk how he's the runaway best point guard in the game and this amazing leader, he's never gotten past the 2nd round once in his career and has lost with HCA a few times.

I think people go a little gaga over him because of his ridiculous advanced stats and his reputation.

Also, I wouldn't be shocked if Harden is in this spot by next July.

Chris Paul has yet to play with a top 10 player IMO. The closest would be Blake Griffin and I don't think he's good enough to be the second best player on a championship team. He has also had the misfortune of playing in the west his entire career. Give him a good team and I have no doubt he could do damage. The clippers are poorly constructed... a ton of perimeter players and Deandre Jordan and Byron Mullens manning the Center position (puke).

I love Chris Paul, but the thought I was trying to convey is, Chris Paul is insanely closer to Deron Williams, Derrick Rose, etc., then Chris Paul is to Lebron, Durant, fully healthy Dwight, prime Wade, prime KG, prime Duncan, etc.

We're only on #3 and we're already having arguments. I like it!

--------------------

If you are not a regular on the Nets board or you don't post here often (e.g. ddb, boarder patrol), you need to vote for 3 rounds in a row in order for your votes to count.

I welcome outsiders to vote, but we don't want outsiders intentionally screwing up our rankings. No hard feelings but this is the most effective method I can use to make sure people non-regulars aren't sabotaging this system.

Boarder Patrol, you have voted 3 times in a row. Your votes will now count starting in round 4.

ddb, you have to vote two more rounds in a row in order for your votes to count.

exculpatory, you missed these last two rounds. Please vote in the next two rounds or you'll have to restart the process over.

Thank you for pointing out the voting rule for new voters. I'd been abstaining because I wasn't sure if I qualified.

I vote for CP3 as well.

We will be moving on to #4 now.

For those who are new to this, there is no need to no nominate players who are already on the ballot for this round. For example, even though we didn't select James Harden as the #3 ranked player, he was still on the ballot to be selected.

I do not remove players who already on the ballot. They will stay on the ballot until we they are officially ranked.

Nominate players who you would like to see on the ballot who are not already on the ballot.
----------------------------------------------------
With all of that said, I'm surprised that Steph Curry only received one nomination vote this round.

Anyway....on to the next round.
