While we're on the topic of Vlade, might as well pimp him out a little and share this nice mix I found of him.(The song is really random but suits him lol)

I think you have one of the better teams (and I do like the Mash pick), so don't take this the wrong way, but....did you really look?

If 3pt shooting was what you were going for, there were a few MUCH better options out there. Especially considering the injury problems that Mash faced. 18 games, 48 games, 24 games, 19 games....those aren't games missed....those are games played for an entire season.

Honestly no. Its funny because I always have a lot of time on the computer, but this past week I picked the wrong time to have a social life. Also doesnt help that i'm leaving pretty soon to go back to school.

Ive never done one of these drafts, but to me its a learning experience and ill definitely do better next year. There are a lot of players I missed out on.

Like I said, you still have a great team. Magic obviously helps push you in the right direction but it is a good squad.

...and there will be another one of these before next year. This won't be annual...it will be when I get bored.

Vlade played well for the Lakers before he was traded and also had some good years in Sacramento.
My first season watching the NBA was Vlades last year as a Laker.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

Worst song ever.

Great mix after I muted it.

Those international plays were nice, especially where he went coast to coast.

A lot of big men are smart passers out of the post...but Vlade was legitimately a GOOD passer. Those touch passes and dishes while making a post move are the kinds of passes that are not really seen by big men.

His career/legacy could have been totally changed if that Sac-LA series ended differently. Still enjoyed watching that though.

His career average is 0.9 3PTM per game. Let's not go overboard here on exactly the kind of impact he actually had.

you should know u need a Ryan Anderson like player on the team with dwight. might not have the Big time 3s made by career average but no bigs outside of Dirk(im talking out of eligible guys) really took 3 points. he made like 37.5% of his 3s taken in his career. thats pretty good for a big

I don't know if that's true cause it didn't work here. Dwight is just a very difficult player to build around generally speaking. Very whiny, his teammates in ORL and LA just grew to hate him, plus he's a coach killer. 4 out, 1 in didn't work. Being stacked around stars didn't help either.

Like the Dandridge pick a lot! I almost took him.

Kevin Love? Another one of those picks that has me scratching my head. He just completed his 5th year...and one that ended in a season ending injury. Maybe it's me who doesn't get the rules.

Was ready to take Spencer Haywood, but having both he and McGinnis coming off the bench just made me giggle. Haywood was a lot better than most remember, hell one of those freaks that just dominated from the get go and essentially opened the floodgate for the younger guys to the NBA movement.

Thanks, one of the nice things about doing drafts like these is learning about past players, and from what I've read about Dandridge it sounds like he is a forgotten great. A "do everything" type of player.

it did actually work to get to the playoffs but we were lacking ability and talent around him.

lets solve this debate here.
PG: advantage this team. williams is bigger and better than his PG.
SG: Greer to me seems better than (otis mistake) and factor in Harden off the bench(whos also better).
SF: Lebron is Infinitely better than another Otis Mistake. Peja is a Lights out 3 point shooter.
PF: Anderson had the advantage of playing with dwight and shot the 3 a lil better than okur.
C: Dwight is dwight. Eaton is better backup than Gortat or any other center we played.

Like Hooplah said earlier this contest has lead me to appreciate a lot of the past NBA greats a lot more than I did before(outside of Knick players)

You agree on Love being a reach? He's had a longer career than Harden, lol.

I like the KMart pick, actually I would put him in the starting lineup and move LJ4 to the bench as he is a bit more of a combo forward.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Manhattan. You helped me learn something new about him. Didn't realize his impact on the younger generation. Sounds almost iconic. :D

I took him because his athleticisim translates in any generation and being a career 20/10 guy is quite honestly rare, especially for one who had such a long career. He was able to maintain from beginning to end.
