Stat Projections for Greivis Vasquez

Post#1 » by PacerPride31 » Wed Jul 24, 2013 9:31 pm

Vasquez averaged 14 PPG, 9 APG (2nd behind Paul) in 34+ Min per Game last season.

Do you guys expect his minutes and stat production to go down much, splitting minutes with Isaiah Thomas?

Seeing that Thornton, McLemore, and perhaps Jimmer are in the guard rotation, do you think Vasquez will see much SG minutes at all?

Seeing as how offensively, he would always be the default PG (would guard SGs with Isaiah, but Isaiah would be the offensive SG there), I don't see him playing at all at SG.

As for his numbers, I'd guess a marked decrease in points with an increase in efficiency. I'd guess a probably decrease in minutes would outweigh the superior offensive options he has here, so I'd bet he puts up 8APG, but with fewer turnovers as well.

I'm going to say about 12.5 pts
8 assists....Less than before do to Cuz being more ball dominant, and also running some offense through him, as well as Salmons playing some point forward.

Look for Cuz to average 1.5 or so more assists this season, running a more cohesive offense.

I'd say 11.2 points, 8.9 assists. It depends I guess on how much the new staff runs the team through him. If they run the team heavily thru Vasquez, I could see his assists go up to around 10.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

Well I think he's going to have the ball in his hands quite a bit, so I'd expect his assist numbers to maintain. Probably less PPG on higher efficiency. So maybe

12 ppg 9 apg on 45% shooting

NOLA's offense was a PG-dependent system.

GV's assists are inflated a bit but I think he's good for at least 7 assists what ever system installed by Malone. If Malone's system is catered around GV's passing, I could see him topping close to 8.5 to 9 assists/game.

8 assists is probably the most realistic imo.

I just don't think he'll be getting the minutes to get those kinds of numbers. I expect him to go from 34 to around 28-30. We only have so many guard minutes.
