If not, barely over 20 PPG with 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

So would you consider last season a relatively healthy season or the year before? I wouldn't.

No and no. This past season he was still dealing with the knee surgery and he had a real slow start.

Nah, let them rest for a bit, usually workouts begin early september.

D Wade actually put up very nice stats in the RS. 21/5/5 on 52%

Playoffs 16/4/5 on 45% had quite the drop though.

Basically... What D Wade does in the Regular Season is no indication of how he'll look in the post season. If he looks bad, take it with a grain of salt. If he looks great...take it with a grain of salt.

He put up decent numbers, despitehis early season struggles when he was still playing himself in shape due to recovery from surgery and his late season struggles due to the bone bruise when he played through them. That was my point.
Also, Wade has playoff averages of 23.7/5.5/5.2/1.7/1.1 on 47% shooting (including this year's dreadful run), so it's not as if you couldn't expect him to be productive come playoff time. The only issue is health, although he's even been able to push through that when desperate times are around.

Ultimately my point is that I expect him to at least match last year's productivity given that he won't waste a summer with surgery and recovery.

Yeah I'm sure he will too. Everyone should play around their productivity from last season. Maybe a slight drop from Repeat hangover...but overall the Regular Season is relatively easy for this team.

I actually expect Wade's numbers to improve. He's had some piss poor games, particularly against the better defenses in the league. Part of that is because his game wasn't on par. I like that Riley and he himself are challenging him to become leaner and a more consistent jump shooter in order to be able to destroy the good defenses again. We all know the reason LeBron is better with us than with Cleveland is mainly attributed to changing his game from a brutal athleticism game to a good mixture of outside shooting, post-ups and driving. All Wade lacks is the consistent outside shot and he seems to have noticed that too. There are too many open threes and midrange jumpers that he passes up, which you can't afford against a good defense. He may not be the driver he once was, but he still is deadly and teams know that. They also know his reluctance to shoot outside shots. When he had the stretch of really clicking from the outside, we looked as dominant as we should. In the Finals, that fact was exposed more than ever. When Wade's outside game wasn't there, we struggled. When it was there, we were clearly the better team.

Since we weren't able to add to our roster, Wade returning to superstardom is essential to our success going forward. There isn't really much more LeBron can do and CB is who he is. Wade on the other hand is a wildcard. His raw numbers look good, but as you've noticed too, his playoff numbers have been uncharacteristically low the past two seasons, which is an indicator of him struggling against good defenses. The years he was in good condition physically and was playing his game, he also had great PO numbers (04/05, 05/06, 08/09, 09/10, 10/11). The years he wasn't right or not up to par, his playoff numbers dropped significantly (06/07 when he came back to early from injury, 11/12, 12/13).

Point there being, it's not a matter of just believing Wade will be better, it's a matter of expecting and needing him to get better again.

Is it just me or does Wade already looks like he's losing some weight?

It may contradict what I said in the OP (it may not, it was a while ago) but Wade's numbers have decreased from 30 points, to 27, to 25, to 22, to 21. What is the reasoning for him not to decline? Same goes for Bosh.

I hope Wade takes a step back and focus on health and PO time, and plays around 30minpg next season, so...

LeBron James 27-8-8
Dwyane Wade 18-4-6
Chris Bosh 19-8-2

Kinda OT -- I wish Wade went with full bald mode this summer before the season starts. Usually everytime he does that, he proceeds to beast it up ('06 playoffs, Olympics before 08-09 season)

And while we're at it, I wish Bosh brings back the dreads. Who knows maybe he'll bring back that 24/11 form too, ya know. ;)

But on topic.....

Bron 26 - 7 - 7
Wade 21 - 5 -5
Bosh 19 - 8 - 2

I think Wade knows that he is still too great of player to play 30 minutes a game but I also know his main priority is to be healthy around the Playoffs starts. I think Wade will play his usual minutes (33-35 min per game) but towards the end of the season he may either: not play the last few games or he will play at a 25-30 min clip. You can't expect a guy like Wade to just give up 5+ min in his usual rotation, especially in the beginning and middle of the season; he is unselfish but he still has his pride.

Well D Wade sat out for 7 of the last 10 games, averaging 31 minutes in the 3 he played. Something's got to give. I think 31 is a bit young to be reduced to 30 min per game too but maybe it needs to be done for him because what you just described is what was done for the 12/13 season.

THIS is the type of stuff that prevents Wade from having a good offseason.

Hmm, wasn't expecting that but come on man... Wades an NBA player, how many of them don't have "baby mama drama"? As a professional athlete he has to condition himself better, work on his game, and hopefully come out gunning for the 13/14 season because it looks to be a hell of a ride.

I was partially kidding but Wade's baby mama drama is much more public than the average player. Don't forget that Wade almost missed a game in the Finals because of his crazy ex kidnapped his kids in 2012.

This would be ideal. Tapering off Three Wade's (corny word play, I know) minutes during the regular season and allowing Chris Bosh to step into the no. 2 role would be great for the team moving forward, especially in the playoffs.
