Re: Antawn Jamison
Antawn got annoyed last year with the lack of playing time he got with LA at times.
I think Lamar might be right, he might want some decent minutes.

I think the problem with the Lakers was they promised him a larger role and didn't deliver.

Re: Antawn Jamison
No, please just no to Jamison. He is far removed from being a productive player. IF we had not made the trade for McBob, then kept him as we did, then maybe he would be a fit. Now, there really is no reason for him to be here, other than acting as sort of a player-coach that doesn't expect much burn. I doubt he wants that and I'm not sure we need that anyway.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: Antawn Jamison
I think it was another case of a player getting tired of D'Antoni's rotations. He probably wasn't pleased with playing 30 minutes one night, 5 the next.

Re: Antawn Jamison
I'm baffled as to what's wrong with signing Jamison. He's not going to see big minutes. Actually not even close to it. Sign the guy to vet minimum and let him show the young bloods how to be a pro while being close to his family.

I agree. You really can't have too many mentors. Looking at Thunder rosters before they made the playoffs, Kurt Thomas, Donyell Marshall, Wally Szczerbiak, Malik Rose, Joe Smith, Danny Fortson, kevin Ollie, etc. Those teams had vets to teach the young guys.

**** that. Sign him and start Ramon, Gordon, Jamison, McBob and Haywood. Watch us challenge that infamous win total from a year ago for lottery ball glory.

Lol hell we could start a highschool team go 1-81 and still get the 4th pick. Its inevitable.

Prediction: The 1 win comes against the Lakers and Kobe demands a trade to the Clippers out of shame.

And didn't Juwan Howard make a pregame speech for the Heat in game 7 vs the Pacers? (Please correct me if I'm wrong, I remember him making a big speech at sometime)

Anyone hear anything new on this front?
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

Re: Antawn Jamison
I had an interview with Brandon Payne (BP) & Blake Boehringer (BB) from Accelerate Basketball today for my website about what players go through during their off season. They were also willing to discuss a little bit about certain players who they have in, one of them being free agent Antawn Jamison. Now I should make note that : Ramona Shelburne has reported that the Bobcats are out the running and the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies have also expressed interest.
However as of right now he is still a free agent and some people might find this interesting.
Me: I just want to touch on one of the names you mentioned before, Antawn Jamison. Obviously word around the league is he is getting older, is he going to slow down? From a training standpoint what would you say on that?
BP: I would say absolutely not, Antawn Jamison (laughs) actually we just came out of a workout a couple of hours ago with him and Antwan was outstanding today. You know, he had surgery on his wrist as soon as the season was over, three days after the cast was off and you could hardly tell he had surgery. He has been tremendous this entire off season, his movement has been very very good, his motivation and drive to play the game at a high level is just as much there as it has ever been. I would even argue that he has probably been shooting the ball better this off season this off season better than any other off season we have worked with him. He really is hungry to win, he really really wants to win, you know when you got a guy who comes out of UNC, played for Dean Smith and played at such a high level while he was in college, he still has that feeling he wants to get that feeling back. Whatever team gets him is going to get a leader and a guy who is still capable of getting 20-25+ and he can do that on back to back nights. He is in a good place physically, I think the world of Antawn Jamison. To have a guy who has been in the league that long and still has the motivation to come in and work with us, trust us I think the world of him and he has been a huge help to our company, as well as Stephan (Curry) and Anthony (Morrow). To have a Vet like Antawn come in has been a huge help to us.
Me: It sounds like he is ready to go better than ever? It will be interesting to see where he ends up.
BP: Of course any player who has a little age on him physically things have changed, but he knows the game and has been able to change the way he plays to really continue to be successful in the league, whoever gets him is getting a guy ready to win.
Me: I think that's a sign of a talented player who knows the game, someone who can adapt to a changing situation and change his style of play to fit. Some people struggle as soon as they lose their athleticism.
BP: I still feel really good about Antawn in Ball Screen situations, I mean he can stretch the floor because he hits that three point shot with great consistency. People forget he played the last half of last season injured, right before the all star game was when that wrist injury occurred, he played a large proportion of that season injured and in A LOT of pain, he is healthy now and ready to go.
BB: His Ball handling is better now than it ever was, that is just a testament to who he is and how he has the ability to stay in the league and keep improving his game.
~END~
The main notes I took from this regarding our team is that Antawn won't come here, it really sounded like he wanted to go somewhere to compete so I can't say I am surprised by the reports we are out the race with Antawn. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the read! I will be posting the full interview which included discussions about Seth, Steph Curry, Morrow, Sean May and other subjects in full on my website in the next week or so but will keep posting relevant bits round here

Re: Antawn Jamison
We don't need to sign Jamison. He's on the tail end of his career and would take minutes away from players we are trying to develop. Jamison needs to go to a team that is a contender anyway.
