I dont get all this talk about pressure and playing this many mins or that many mins. He's not some NBA Allstar coming to put a team over the hump. Oden is nothing but a bonafide Role-Player right now (and even that is up for debate.. cuz the dude hasn't played in 3 years). No matter where he goes, he's not gonna be that much a difference maker.

Oden, just make a damn decision already and put everyone out of their Misery.

Still hearing that Greg Oden will decide on Wednesday or Thursday. Still six teams in the hunt: ATL, DAL, MIA, NOH, SAC, SAS.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?! What the hell is such a damn hard decision? I'm telling you its just the Agents trying to get as much money out of the teams as possible.

Source: Camby to sign with Rockets; Heat want Greg Oden

MIAMI — It's no surprise Marcus Camby won’t be coming to the Miami Heat.

A source had told FOX Sports Florida on Friday the Heat had backed off on the center. And sources said Sunday that Camby will sign a one-year contract with the Houston Rockets for the $1.4 million minimum.

A source had said a week ago that Camby's final three choices were the Heat, Rockets and Chicago Bulls. But while the Rockets and Bulls opted to bring Camby in for visits, the Heat ended up being not as keen about signing the center, who will be 40 next March.

The Heat remain committed to going after free-agent center Greg Oden, who is expected to make a decision soon. Miami coach Erik Spoelstra and vice president of player personnel Chet Kammerer observed Oden in a workout last week in his hometown of Indianapolis.

"If we get Greg Oden, I think we will win a third (straight) title," Heat scout Tim Hardaway said in an interview with FOX Sports Florida on Saturday...

When did Tim Hardaway become a heat scout? I mean if the heat, REALLY believe that. Then ****, give him the full mmle and get it over with. I dont think they believe getting Oden means winning another title. Hardaway talking out of his ass.

Where exactly did he say we think? He's stating his personal opinion, not the organization's stance.

He didnt, I guess since they said hes a "heat scout" hes representing the heat organization isnt he? I mean why are we hiring him as a scout if he isnt bringing back information to the organization?

TheChosen...please just listen to NBA82. From a 3rd person view, all of their points have clearly trumped yours, and this really isn't just because we want Oden here.

I would also add that Evans is very much a work in progress, too. He's one they need to get on the right track. They have a slew of perimeter players who will be looking to get their numbers. No idea how that could mean he'd have more of an offensive role there. We have a bunch of vets who don't care about their stats and have already sealed their status in the NBA.

Translation: "Offer me that mini-MLE, Mr. Riley, or I'll go to New Orleans. I swear, I'll do it."

This translation illustrates exactly where the Oden situation would appear to stand. They've isolated NO as the ideal leverage team.

NBA82 wrote:If he had alcohol problems in Portland, he's not going to find any respite in New Orleans or Miami. Honestly not worried about that. The dedication it takes to rehab from what he's been through pretty much proves he's moved past that stage in his life. He is clearly serious about reviving his career.

Exactly. And we're acting here as though there isn't a night life in all 30 NBA cities. Further, the poster who is pushing this theme even quoted an excerpt that stated Oden's heavy drinking was coming at his own house parties. House parties. Not club-hopping. Silly angle.

At this point, I don't think we have anything to lose by offering Oden the MMLE, based on our lack of moves thus far this season. He has impressed us in work outs. However, how will he adjust to NBA pace? When will he be able to play his first game this season?

I don't think we do either, but no point in throwing it at him right away like the hungry Pelicans will reportedly attempt.

Who knows when his first game would be. His handlers are saying he'll be ready for training camp, but seems like a peculiarly ideal time for him to be ready. Beauty is he'd be able to take his time here. Should he stay healthy, I'd imagine by the Playoffs he'd be able to give some decent spurts.

Marc Stein [HEAVY CHECK MARK] @ESPNSteinLine

Known Greg Oden pursuers: Heat, Spurs, Pelicans, Mavs, Hawks & Kings. All but Dallas sent reps to Indianapolis this week to scout him live

Free agent center Greg Oden appears most intrigued by Pelicans & Heat, source told Y! Sports. Decision still expected this week.

In Riley I trust.

Unbelievable that this guy has made this into a Dwight Howard level move.

A lot of attention on an end of bench guy.

Word from multiple witnesses of Greg Oden's workouts this week: He looks quite lean & is moving quite well. No wonder so many teams in hunt

Only news to talk about right now, unless you think talking about Brandon Jennings isn't signed yet is better or more important news.

I actually think it will end up being about who offers him more money. If it was all about who gives him the best chance of winning then he would have already signed with Miami. Plus, I read somewhere that said he actually prefers a place with no pressure.

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/ ... ding-team/

Should Oden reach a deal with Miami, the spotlight on him will be hotter than with any of the other five. He’ll risk being seen as something of a front-runner, as he would to a lesser extent with the Spurs.

Any of the teams lower in the pecking order — the Pelicans, Kings, or Hawks — could offer more modest expectations. And if Oden were to stay healthy and help one of them, he might find himself with more supporters nationally and globally than he would by jumping aboard the Miami or San Antonio bandwagons.

“We’ve looked at all the scenarios,” Duffy said Friday. “There might be less pressure if he tries this with a team that’s rebuilding. Then again, the quality of the medical staff will matter. Maybe a winning team has chemistry that’s good or his role would be clearly defined.”

Medical staff is important to them though. I doubt the Blazers are a possibility to them since they literally **** his and Brandon Roy's career.

Why is the pressure and "spotlight" such a big thing people talk about? Ask Shane Battier or Rashard Lewis about the pressure on their shoulders to win. Cuz the way I see it, the pressure rests on the shoulders of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. They are the heavy lifters and everyone else just supports them.

People need to stop acting like Oden is gonna play a SAVIOR type of role, in Miami, that the Blazers thought he was going to be. He's a Role Player. That's it. Nothing is better than to come into a situation where there are veterans to guide you.. and everyone knows their roles and you can just slide in. Instead of having a ton of new faces on a team with each trying to make a name for themselves (i.e Anthony Davis, Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans)

In Miami.. He can have one of the best defensive centers in the history of the game, in Alonzo Mourning, guide him back to the nba and unleash what potential he still has.

I agree that this is totally a money issue at the moment.

Not only is the pressure angle ridiculous, but we haven't even heard anything about him wanting to avoid pressure. It's pure speculation. The agent quoted said "there might be less pressure..." Who knows what he was asked. Doesn't mean that's the deciding factor for him.

Let's all agree we have no idea what his priorities are.

Hardaway scouts college players for the organization. He gave his personal opinion about what he believes Oden would mean to the team next season. What's the issue?

Even with it being Tim's personal opinion, the fact is Riley wouldn't be chasing Oden if he didn't think his acquisition could potentially bolster their pursuit of another championship. It's really not even up for debate.

I also think there's no way they make the playoffs. OKC, SA, Houston, Memphis, LAC, GS, and Denver are all locks. They're going to be horrendous defensively.

You should have learned by now that no one is a "lock" to do anything in the NBA. Anyone can falter, and teams always take that next big leap. I bet the Lakers were a lock for most people last season, no?

Well the Lakers did make the playoffs last season despite significant injuries to pretty much every one of their rotation players at some point or another, so I'm not sure that's a great example. "Lock" may be hyperbole, but I think the point is clear. Short of injury, there are 7 teams that are head-and-shoulders better than New Orleans, and another 4 that are right there with them. That's not a great preseason indicator for making the playoffs.

If you really want to break balls, we can say they've got a slim shot at the 7 or 8 seed if they stay healthy and catch a few breaks. Either way, they're not a contender by the wildest stretch of the imagination, and they've probably got a better shot at 50 losses than 50 wins.

He wants to play here and it gives him potentially the best exposure, which is what he needs if he truly is out to prove he can play. His people want the most money to get their percent and are dragging this out, hoping we cave and pay full mle. If we don't get him, I believe it is because Bill Duffy still resents how his epic screw up with Anthony Carter's opt in, which cost him respect and clients, could have been worked out as a gentleman's agreement with Riley. It of course turned into a godsend for us as we signed Odom, had that great run, traded Odom for Shaq and ultimately won our first championship. Duffy won't do Riley any favors. But in the end, it is Oden's choice.
I'm like Global Warming, you can't ignore me.

All the porn websites are produced in Miami, I think it should be an easy decision.
