Team USA: Faried and Lawson

Post#1 » by RealValJean » Fri Jul 26, 2013 5:34 pm

I was only able to watch the first quarter but as soon as Lawson checked in he had a SWEET alley-oop with Faried right off the bat. Definitely could see the chemistry between the two. Also diggin' Lawson's passes inside.

What did y'all think for those of you who watched the game yesterday?

Both looked solid. I think Faried probably has a better shot at making the team because of the strong competition at the point and Faired could be a solid glue guy who really doesn't need the ball but can rebound and hustle. As coach K said, he could be an Anderson Varejao type for team USA.

I'd actually give the edge to Lawson. If Paul continues to go to the playoffs he'll eventually want the rest. I'm not sure how much longer he'll be around. The top two point guards are Irving and Lawson (no offense to Lillard.... screw Wall LOL). Westbrook his hurt now. Deron has got to be done. Paul has the gold already and is looking at future years of playoff runs... It is possible that either Paul or Westbrook might decline so that clears the way for Irving and Lawson.

The Nuggets FO should be against a guy like Lawson playing in the summer. I care about his long-term health with the Nuggets, and I hope he doesn't turn into a guy with chronic problems like Deron.
I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL

It's not for the Nuggets to decide whether he plays for USA Basketball. Melo did it. You can't come out and tell a guy "Hey, I don't think you should play on the national stage for your country", especially if given a roster spot.

Play more, get stronger. Play too much, get depleted. Play too careful, injury.

Melo navigated his way through plenty of Team USA.

Ha, that was one of his greatest qualities. Went the distance. Was that one reason he eventually resorted to settling for isos? Just perpetually slightly tired?
