Bradley Beal Situation(Wtf?)

Post#1 » by Jay81 » Mon Jul 29, 2013 5:47 pm

Is anyone getting concerned that he will not be ready for training camp? When he first got hurt, it was suppose to be a 4-6 week injury...not 4-6 months. Why was he playing hurt in the first place with only 9th place on the line? Why werent him and Nene shutdown early?

More importantly...was he misdiagnosed AGAIN by our awful medical staff? When is he coming back? How has he worked on his game this summer?

Beal, who has missed three months with the injury, plans to start doing live contact work in the next week or so after consulting with his agent and doctor. He expects to be ready for the start of Wizards training camp in late September.

This sounds like you're being negative for the sake of being negative.

No reason to not be abundtantly cautious considering its the offseason and he still has two months to work on his game before camp.

I usually find this chicken little's posting style to be annoying, but he has a point. Bea's been hurt for a pretty long time. Right now, he shouldn't be involved in any basketball related activities until he feels 100% IMO. The coaching staff needs to save him from himself, like the Skins coaching staff is doing with RG3.

What's really a shame is that Beal has missed so many key games these past three months.

You could argue that he didn't miss any key games last season either....

I was really nervous with the way the John Wall injury was progressing last yer, but it turns out that they were just being overly cautious. At this point, I'm going to give the medical staff the benefit of the doubt. My guess is that Beal could probably play right now if he had to, but they're just being very careful.

as they should

he is still doing skill development type stuff (shooting) from what I remember reading.

to Ji's original point, players play hurt because they think they can. They often hide their
injuries and downplay them when they do admit to them. This really isn't something that
you can just mindlessly blame on the medical staff.

Grunfeld & EJ's stunning mismanagement of Gilbert Arena's knee injury, set the benchmark for how NOT to handle injury comebacks. Better to play it safe than blow a major asset.

Camp is not for another, what, two months at least? He'll be ready.

You talk like Gilbert himself had nothing to do with how things worked out.

There is a 2nd "Gilbert Arenas Rule", Management must take a hands-on approach to managing the rehabilitation of their injured players, especially franchise players just given $100 million -dollar contracts.

There is no need to recount the history here. Suffice to say that RG III is not the first major Washington sports figure we have had to witness playing when they obviously should have been benched. What Ernie and EFJ did was much, much worse than what Gilbert did to himself. Management played Gilbert starter minutes following knee surgery. It was horrific to witness and Gilbert was never the same player afterwords.

In contrast to the Wizards, the Bulls rested Rose for an entire season following his surgery, they learned.
