he has legit size and speed, stays in front of his man and is generally in good position.

Al horford for lee + Barnes is something i'd do though.

He's been nearly as efficient as Lee for his career (considering his high USG), and his defense is 10X Lee's.

I think he's better than lee without a doubt. It's just I'm thinking in regards to matchups against okc and miami. If we go Bogut and LMA can LMA punish lebron or kd the way david west does? Or does LMA allow himself to be guarded by battier and sefolosha? Which results in mismatch for us with lma having to guard the perimeter. Which means we most likely downsize with LMA playing center and he goes against bosh and ibaka/collison, which is essentially a wash and we don't get to use bogut.

LMA is soft on D

If your going to make a play for someone, the guys you go after is Horford and Marc Gasol

That is my take as well. I was pushing for a Lee/LMA trade early on and starting watching Portland games. He is more of a below the rim player than Lee. Neither is going to bLock shots and be a rim protector. I much prefer Horford or Ibaka.

Then there's the question on whether or not those guys are available. I'd love Horford but you kinda got to go with who's available.

I also never understood the LMA for Lee swap talk. As a longtime Aldridge fan (go longhorns) he's almost a carbon copy of Lee. More confident against better teams and a wider offensive repertoire I suppose, but he's not the passer Lee is so it all kinda evens out. I guess I'd rate LaMarcus higher, but I'd rather have Love out of the three. At least he has a transcendent talent, aggressive rebounding, and a unique talent, his 3pt shooting.

You add Barnes or Klay to a trade for Horford or Marc Gasol and trust me the ears will perk up.. I like Ibaka too, but not sure if I would add with Barnes or Klay..

What are the Hawks doing though?

Teague/Shroeder
Lou/Jenkins/Mack
Korver
Milsap/Tolly
Horford/Brand/Noguera

I know they have trouble filling the stadium with a perennial playoff team (4-6 seed) but trying to scrap for the 7-8 seed as a treadmill team won't be filling up that stadium. They were marketed as the highlight factory and who there is really an attraction? Horford is a solid player but he's not a franchise guy. I know they brought in new management and a new coach and hopefully they realize they should get some assets for Horford and tank the season once the fans don't show up.

Just because LMA is available doesn't mean we need to trade for him. I don't think he is available to the Warriors anyway.

i agree that he isn't available to the warriors at any reasonable cost. he's not worth rethinking/rebuilding our roster construction or approach. i could see him being shipped to a team with some cap space to absorb, a young chip and picks.

just starting to dig into this website for an updated look on teams cap situations/holds etc.

Here is for those that wants to reconsider putting Barnes in any trade package along with David Lee.

Are u guys interested in any trades with the suns? I know I would happily offer a package centered around Gortat and draft picks for Barmes. I'm just thinking aloud. What would u guys gauage his value at?

He's gonna be an unrestricted free agent next year, Gortat's value is the same as of any expiring contract in that situation.

Do you value Gortat or bogut higher. Considering Gortat makes 1/2 of what bogut makes.

Is that even a question? Considering when healthy Bogut is one of the top, if not the best defensive center in basketball, Bogut is much more valuable than Gortat.

Whoa there just asking. Considering as well that bogut is always injured.

Barnes' value just crushes Gortat's... Bogut's? Maybe they are along the same lines in trade value, but Bogut is one of those types who carries a lot more value to the team he's currently on, because if he's healthy, he's one of the top Cs in the league.
