Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Josh Childress has interest from 3 teams--no doubt in my mind the Wizards is one of them. Ernie has a boner for this guy.

This has got to be the 8th annual Josh Childress to the Wizards rumor.

Just having some fun deneem4, anything to break the perpetual tension of Wizards fandom. I've left a few shredded posts from my phone too.

Especially if Childress added a 3 point shot, he wouldn't be a terrible end of the bench 3rd String SF at the vet minimum. It provides a litte depth to allow moving Ariza and in case Webster has health issues.

Beno Udrich is still unsigned. Probably could have got him for the vet min.

Still could. And, if given a fair shot, he'd likely be Wall's backup ahead of Maynor.

Childress is a garbage can. He doesn't belong in the NBA.

Last season, Childress posted a PPA of 39 in 100 minutes (average = 100; replacement level = 45). That 39 was better than these Wizards:

- Chris Singleton -- PPA of 24 in 924 minutes
- Kevin Seraphin -- PPA: 22; 1721 minutes
- Jan Vesely -- PPA: 19; 601 minutes

So, if the Wizards signed Childress and he played exactly as badly as he did last year, he would actually represent a modest upgrade.

I have a PPPA of 25 for Childress and a PPPA of 100 for Seraphin :)

And yes - just having fun...

Udrih is terrible. With that being the case, he's helluva lot better than Maynor.

As bad as those guys are at least they have an excuse. They are on their rookie deals and lack experience.

Childress is 30 (which should be his prime) and has a ton of experience. He just sucks. And he is one of the worst defenders in the entire NBA according to Synergy.

Why is Childress being discussed? Did I miss something?

The Blair news was disappointing. He immediately would have been the top reserve. It was a definite mistake to jump the gun on signing Maynor and using up the bi-annual exception.

I wonder if the Wizards offered Blair a minimum deal or if their interest in him was predicated on moving one or two of the young pfs? Bottom line is the contract to Maynor and Booker/Vesely/Singleton being on the roster is severely limiting our ability to maneuver in this secondary phase of free agency. At what point do they consider a buyout of a guy lkee Singleton?

There's really no incentive for Singleton to accept a buyout. He has a guaranteed salary for next season, and is highly unlikely to ever get a deal paying him as much as what's left on the contract. The Wizards could cut him, but they'd still have to pay him the full guaranteed amount.

Am I the lone surviving Austin Daye fan?

Is he a stretch four? In height only, perhaps.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
