Nogueira's buyout close......staying in Atlanta

Post#1 » by hawksman1970 » Thu Jul 25, 2013 7:46 pm

Lucas Nogueira's buyout is close to being finished with Atlanta. Estudiantes came down a lot on the money and they can't risk him staying in Spain for one more year, which is what Atlanta is threatening. Sportando

looks like Nogueira will be a Hawk as well.....

all of a sudden we have a plethra of big men....wonder if there is a deal for horford or millsap in Ferrys hand....

we could deal Millsap and a future 1st to HOU for Asik and Parsons

I don't think we can trade Milsap for a few more months.

My guess is Deshawn is gone & Muscala gets stashed for a year. I was really hoping Bebe would take another year to develop elsewhere...

If Nogueira comes, that eliminates the need for Oden, right?

The Hawks had been debating whether it was better for Nogueira’s development to play major minutes overseas or play limited minutes while on a weight-training program in Atlanta.

That´s fun why they think he is going to have major minutes now he will eventually leave the team when last year with pending contract he played 13 mpg?

Yeah, he never had big minutes in Spain, nor the body development there is in par with NBA... he just turned 21, so if he goes to Europe he'll probably be 22 when he starts any serious body dev at US

I'd prefer that we bring Bebe over and send him to the D-League while we have him work out with a strength trainer.

No, D-League's not the greatest competition, but he could get major minutes there practicing how to be a real C while putting on muscle. It's a helluva lot better than him getting 15 MPG in Spain.

Perhaps, but I keep hearing Spain is the second best pro league in the world. If he gets bumped up 24 mpg in a top league, I'd have to believe that's better than 30 mpg against D-League scrubs. Especially since we wouldn't be paying him while he is overseas, and it delays him becoming a restricted Free Agent.

From what I've read, Bebe's minutes were limited in Spain for the same reason he would be limited here, his youth, lack of strength and his rawness. He's older, bigger than he was as a 19 year old rookie; I anticipate he receives more PT overseas this year.

If We could only send over a nutritionist and weight coach with Bebe...
