Yeah I rather take my chances and pray we're sorry this season in hopes of drafting a wing player that we can eventually build around. Your kidding yourself if you think we're ever going to win anything significant with the upcoming FA's. Who knows we might even find our next great player in the draft. **** I have more trust/confidence in that then rondo and company taking us anywhere.

Lakers get:
Ariza, Marcin gortat (both expiring contracts), protected 1st round from wiz and/or second round pick from wiz, have wiz agree to take on 1.5m duhon is owed for next year off our books

Reasons:
obvious really,
gortat//kamen//pau//sacre
gasol//LO//kamen
Ariza//Wes//Young//LO
mamba//young//Wes//farmer
Nash//farmer//Kobe
Should be a game changer in the west and help reverse the direction of the team. ALSo, Ariza and Marcin also on expiring deals so if it doesn't work out u can still go after all of next years top FAs.
*(gortat gets to play with his ALLTIME fav teammate in Nash again).

Suns get:
Rudy Gay, Jordan Hill, vessley (can rescind his contract after upcoming season)

Reasons suns do it:
full rebuild mode after scola trade and trying to scoop up as many young prospects and stars as possible. Len-Morris bros-gay-Bledsoe-goran is a nice young core to build around. And if they suck and gay decides to opt out iggy style they'd still have plenty of draft picks in upcoming draft. Also save money in this deal.
Len//hill
Morris twins//hill//Beasley
Gay//Beasley//vessley//green
Bledsoe//greens//Malcolm
Goran//Bledsoe
Great young core for the future.

Wiz get:
Steve Blake, Jamison (s&t), Meeks, Amir Johnson

Reasons wiz do it:
Amir Johnson provides another and better shot blocker with Emeka who also replace Emeka if wiz decide not to resign Emeka and/or he signs else where. Blake, Meeks, Blake would all be good enough to come in for starters and all expiring deals. Wiz also save a good chunk of money.
Emeka//Amir
Nene//Amir//Jamison
Otto porter//Webster//Jamison
Beal//Meeks//rice//temple
Wall//Blake//maynor should be good enough to finally make playoffs.
Also could potentially Save close to 5mill in salary in the process.

Raptors get:
seraphin, Caron butler, Shannon brown(all exp contracts), booker/singleton (can rescind deals), Channing frye, marshall, lottery protected 1st round picks from wiz and suns, second round pick from lakers and suns as well

Reason Toronto does it:
full on tank mode for their homegrown native wiggins and clear up cap space to rebuild.
JV//gray//seraphin
Frye//seraphin//Novak//booker
Derozan//butler//fields//Novak//Q
Ross//Shannon brown//fields//Q
Lowry//Augustine//Marshall
=wiggins-rific squad (also save money)

What do y'all think?

all we need is one ping pong ball

Ping pong ball system is a farce and a joke. Picks are dolled out on based on teams who brought in the lowest amount of revenue or in Clevelands and NOH(now NOP) case given to placate and resolve nba related issues; for instance in Cleveland's case, 2 1st overall picks and 1 third&4th overall pick last 3 years were compensation for lebrons departure and so their owner didnt sell the team the moment Lebron left (which would hurt league and estimated market value of teams etc); whereas in In NOPs case, 1st overall went to them in order to help sweeten the deal for its for its eventually owner, to finally agree to buy the team (hence current owner only agreed to buy team once they officially landed the 1st overall).

Lakers will never see a low enough revenue stream come in to get the 1st overall. That being said, may as well win now and let the chips land where they may.

Even if we tank that doesn't guarantee that we'll get Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker. So I'd rather take my chances at young group than tank and be miserable for another season. Plus I don't want to waste Kobe's last years. I don't care if it's a deep draft, the franchise should do everything in their power to stay relevant at least until his career is done.

... these are the players i would like to have too ... i hate Rondo (as a opponent wearing a Celtics uniform) but i respect him as a player and i don't have any problem him coming to the Lakers ... his perimeter shooting is bad but assists and rebounds are crazy ... and a good defender too ... let K Love do the shooting ...

Phoenix Suns general manager Ryan McDonough has been very since he took over basketball operations and now the team has a bunch of quality young players and plenty of future first round picks. McDonough believes those picks could help him land an All-Star type talent.

"When teams have maybe a disgruntled superstar, what are they looking for in return? Well, they're looking for picks, that's what they want," McDonough tells ArizonaSports.com. "I think we're well positioned to strike if and when the next disgruntled superstar becomes available."

The Suns could have five first round picks in the next two NBA drafts. In 2014 they have their own pick, along with selections from the Indiana Pacers (protected 1-14) and Minnesota Timberwolves (protected 1-14). In 2015 they have their own pick and the Los Angeles Lakers' (protected 1-5).

Lakers give up nothing and receive not only Gortat which they didn't give up enough to acquire but a 1st round pick? Wizards give up two 1st round picks and Kevin Seraphin for essentially junk. smh

Your trade is realistic... if opposing teams have brain damage and are willing to cater to the Lakers.

Wiz outgoing: Kevin Seraphin, Trevor Ariza, Jan Vesely, Booker/Singleton, 1st round pick(x2)
Wiz incoming: Amir Johsnon, Steve Blake, Jodie Meeks, Antawn Jamison, 1.5mil cap hit(Duhon)

Raps outgoing: Rudy Gay, Amir Johnson
Raps incoming: Kevin Seraphin, Caron Butler, Shannon Brown, Channing Frye, Kendall Marshall, Booker/Singleton, Wiz 1st, Suns 1st + 2nd, Lakers 2nd

Suns outgoing: Marcin Gortat, Kendall Marshall, Channing Frye, Caron Butler, Shannon Brown
Suns incoming: Rudy Gay, Jan Vesely, Jordan Hill

Lakers outgoing: Steve Blake, Jodie Meeks, Antawn Jamison, Jordan Hill, 1.5mil cap hit(Duhon), Lakers 2nd
Lakers incoming: Marcin Gortat, Trevor Ariza, Wizards 1st

That's your trade broken down so you can see who gives up what. It's funny how the Wizards already give up Kevin Seraphin and two 1st round picks for a bunch of garbage AND they also have to take back Duhon's cap hit. Gortat is already better than anything the Lakers give up but yeah, the Wizards should throw in a pick and eat more salary too. Wizards 1sts and Seraphin are all 3 better than anything they get in return. :o

I just can't stress how awful that trade is for the Wizards. Give up two 1sts, Seraphin and a couple more young players for a bunch of trash. A back up point guard to Wall. A back up shooting guard to Beal. A 37 year old Antawn Jamison. And 1.5 million dollar cap hit. And the Raptors trade 2 players and get 6 back... yikes. Lakers sure made out great though.

Lol I take it you're a wizards fan who doesn't know squat about basketball. Here, let me help you with a quick crash course, here goes:
1.go to Espn.com

2.search Amir Johnson and check his stats, age, and then click on 'splits' subtab on that page. See those numbers starting at C and PF? Yea, McGee, and you're current starting center who makes over 2x the amount Amir does and yet put up Inferior numbers compared to him.

3.check what centers with similar numbers, age, and upside are getting paid and worth and then get back to me on the whole "lol Idk what I'm talking about but I'm gonna act like I do lool talk!". Point is, if u don't know Amir, u don't know crap. As far as Jamison goes, do this: google wiz interested in Jamison bc and see whether I made it up or not.

4.you're talking about seraphin as if he's relevant here tells me just how dumb you Are. Wiz give up a third string sf making 7.7mill for 3 players who would all come in play as second string starters while SAVING Washington a lot of money that your franchise doesn't exactly generate enough of to, u know. Splurge close to 8mill to a third string backup (Aren't you still paying off rashard Lewis's contract off anyways? Lol).
5.read lottery protected/1st round protected. First round pick doesn't mean "yea like they'd just give u guys a potential overall first pick!"
6."lakers give up nothing ...and wiz give up seraphin" lol indeed. Stay on Espn and check hills avg and per to seraphins. Than check recent suns trade where they' gave up scola for chips and lottery protected picks. Also, phx just drafted a center with the 5th and is trying to rebuild, idiot.

But ya, didnt know you likes seraphin that much. You must be the one and only fan of his who believes in him and cares enough about him to focus on him the way u did. Good luck with that though :)

So, what you are saying is that it is realistic.

Yeah, there's no reason to take anyone serious when it comes to making predictions. None of us know what's going to happen, but on paper this team is exceptional offensively and that's good enough to get a decent seed in the playoffs. Our defense is what will prevent us from advancing once we get there.

I remember those days, then reality set in and hit me like a ton of bagged donkeys.

utterly rude awakening.

We will be tanking indirectly because of our roster in comparison to other teams in this brutal western conference.

you guys will know soon enough.

Just dont forget a lot of you are deluded enough to think this roster can compete.

It cannot. That grantland piece is on point. Mark my words.

Do you think the Lakers will go through what the Celtics / Knicks of the early 2000's went through in terms of competitiveness??
