I'll try to move past my initial reaction and see if I can muster some positivity.

I'll start slow.

First of all, congratulations to Brandon Jennings on landing an $8 million/year contract after posting that ts%. That's some impressive work by you and your agent.

Ok, ok...I'll try harder...

With Jennings (and a tight leash on him....I'm talking one of those retractable leashes that just when your dog starts running full speed, tongue lolling out, forgetting he's attached to you, you press that button, BOOM! Back to reality. You're gonna stay right by my side, you hear? No butt sniffing, no squirrel chasing, nothing.) on our team, we immediately have more talent than we had with Knight.

We have the perfect frontline to deal with Jennings' weaknesses. There are few teams in the league who could minimize his weaknesses like we can. Teams don't want him to drive and dish, so he should get more open looks. Even if he's lousy at shooting, he'll hit more being more open than Milwaukee. And if he doesn't hit 'em, we've got a bunch of athletic bigs down low to rebound. Also, Jennings is a good dribbler. I expect coaches will work on getting him to drive and dish.

He's surrounded by Chauncey Billups and Maurice Cheeks...two people who know a hell of a lot about the PG position. If anyone can help him, it's them. In the other thread, "Laimbeer" coined the term "chucker whisperer," saying Chauncey Billups was not one. BUT.....what if he is?

Our town is bankrupt. It's only a matter of time before the Pistons move to a bigger city, becoming the Sault Ste. Marie Locks. You know what we're doing now? We're saying F*** it. It's Tuesday, I'm getting drunk and agreeing to a sign and trade for Brandon F***ing Jennings. Let's do this! Pour me another drink, I don't wanna know what she looks like when I wake up in the morning.

How's this for a welcome?? We traded a VERY hard working young player with a good head on his shoulders and who got along with everyone on hit team for a selfish, me first player who doesn't care about anything but filling up his stat sheet and struggled to get along with his teammates. I am not happy about this trade and trust that you will be under a microscope with us fans. I'm hoping you prove us wrong... Welcome to the D buddy!!!

At the very least, Jennings will spread the floor for Smith/Monroe/Drummond- he's a shooter, a volume shooter at that. Hopefully he cuts down on his shot attempts and improves his efficiency. Thats a big if- but if that is the case next season I will be happy.

I obviously have my doubts about Jennings but Knight clearly wasnt working out. Hes not a PG and he's too small to be a SG. I would have preffered a different PG coming back in a trade, but Im glad Knight is out.

If we improve our SG spot with a guy like Afflalo or C. Lee then we'll be pretty good

Jennings/Billups/Bynum
Lee/KCP/Singler
Smith/Datome/Jerebko
Monroe/Charlie V/Mitchell
Drummond/FA

I don't think it would hurt to bring back Ben Wallace as our backup C. We would have all our locker room guys back. Billups, Wallace & Sheed. All this team needs is leadership. Those 3 players plus Hamilton ruled the NBA for 5 years... The chemistry was infectious and might spill over to the rest of the team!!! I'm sure B.Wallace can be had at the league min. 8 min a game should do him justice!!!

I'm really happy for you guys and as a HUGE BJenn fan I will be making the pistons my team #2. I am a orlando guy and have been a fan of the magic since berth and I was really hoping we'd take a shot on him. Brandon is going to have an amazing year IMO and Detroit should be battling out for the top 4 spot in the east now. IMO of course
