The Chicago Bears quickly filled their roster void created by the expected retirement of defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis on Thursday by signing veteran defensive end Jamaal Anderson.

I like it. I was thinking about making a thread to sign him but we still need to sign a DT imo.

Well, we just lost another D-Lineman.

Turk McBride ruptured his Achilles per the wiretap.

Chicago Bears defensive lineman Turk McBride is the latest NFL player to go down with a season-ending injury. The 28-year-old was carted off the field with a ruptured Achilles tendon, the Bears' official website reported Monday.

Signed to a one-year contract in March, McBride was attempting to nail down the nickel specialist role with Corey Wootton moving into the starting lineup opposite Julius Peppers.

With the ability to play both end and tackle, versatility was McBride's calling card. He was active in just 15 of 32 games with the New Orleans Saints over the past two seasons.

Those would both be excellent aditions to the rotation. All of our young DTs - Melton, Paea and Collins - could learn a lot from Seymour. And I think McClellin could learn quite a bit from Anderson since they are similar to each other - Peppers and Wootton are more power players so I don't think McClellin is learning much watching them.
