Masai should get together with Hammond and Dumars, 'cause all three teams could help each other.

ok..I'm bored

TORONTO
IN

Lamarcus Aldridge 14.9
Marcus Thornton 8

OUT
Demar Derozan 9.5
Terrence Ross 2.7
Amir Johnson 6.5
Landry Fields 6.25
two 1st rounders

PORTLAND
OUT
Lamarcus Aldridge 14.9

IN
Demarcus Cousins 4.9
Derozan 9.5

SACRAMENTO
OUT
Demarcus Cousins 4.9
Marcus Thornton 8

IN
Landry Fields 6.25
Amir Johnson 6.5
Terrence Ross 2.7
two 1st round picks

Portland cuts their losses and appeases Aldridge, getting two young "studs" in return.
Sac gets rid of their headache in Cousins and goes the tank route, getting two 1st rounders in return. Fields/Amir only have two years left and Ross is on his rookie contract. Make them aware that Amir is undervalued, has great advanced stats and is a character guy.

Tough sell to both teams.

Jonas/Gray
Aldridge/Hansbrough/Acy
Gay/Novak/Daye
Thornton/Qrich
Lowry/Buycks/Augustin

Sign a SG/SF wing.

That's not a bad idea. Although, Brandon Knight is the epitome of mediocre.

The roster balancing final trade. A spin off of another deal I posted here earlier but I think it really balances EVERYONE not just us.

To TOR Chuck Hayes
To MIL John Salmons
To SAC: Epke Udoh + Landry Fields + OKC 2014 2nd RD Pick (via TOR)

Toronto gets a much needed extra big and one who fits Casey's tough defensive style. We save about 500k per year over the next two.

Sacramento gets a younger SF in Fields, a young big in Udoh and a 2nd rounder when they don't have one next year. They also save money this year which may appeal to ownership.

Milwaukee gets someone who can start at SF and clear their glut of bigs. Go for 8th.

Kings Depth Chart:

Thomas / Vasquez / McCallum
Mclemore / Thorton / Fredette
Moute / Fields / Outlaw
Patterson / Landry
Cousins / Thompson / Udoh

Bucks Depth Chart:

Knight / Ridnour / Smith
Mayo / Neal / Middleton
Salmons / Delfino / Antetokounmpo
Ersan / Henson / Kravtsov
Sanders / Pachulia / Rad

Everyone is more balanced after this trade as you can see. Our raptors would become

Raptors Depth Chart:

Lowry / Augustin / Buycks
Derozan / Ross
Gay / Novak / Daye
Amir / Hansbrough / Acy
Val / Hayes / Gray

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Raptors out: Landry Fields, 2015 lottery protected pick
Raptors in: Thad Young

Lowry/DJ/Buyks
DeMar/Ross/Daye
Rudy/Daye/Novak
Thad/Amr/Novak
Jonas/Gray/Acy

Philly out: Thad Young
Philly in: Charlie V (expiring), Raps protected 1st, Pistons unprotected 1st

Get out of Thads 3 years, J rich 2 years, get 2 first rounders

Detroit out: Charlie V, 2015 first

Detroit trades:
Greg Monroe
Charlie Villaneuva
Rodney Stuckey
Jonas Jerebko

Toronto trades:
Rudy Gay
Amir Johnson
Quentin Richardson

DET develops a strong defensive identity with a Gay, Smith, Drummond, Amir frontcourt anchoring them, then Jennings potentially playing a Conley like role on the team. Financially the deal actually ends up OK for them because Monroe and Jerebko were going to combine for 15 mil+ next year.

TOR goes younger with Monroe and opens up long term cap flexibility

DeRozan to ATL for Schroeder and filler (doesn't have to match since ATL is under cap)

-The Hawks just extended Teague. There's no real room for Shroeder and they could use a SG. The Raptors get their PG of the future.

Fields to SAC for Hayes

-This was covered earlier and I really like it for the Raps.

Lowry and Ross to GSW for Harrison Barnes and filler

Barnes seems to be the odd man out in Golden State and Lowry would look good there and replace Jack. Not sure if they'd do it but I threw in Ross as incentive to get it done (even if I don't really want to)

Aaron Gray and a second rd. pick to NO for Anthony Morrow

We need a backup SG and New Orleans needs some size. Win-win.

Schroeder/Augustine/Buicks
Barnes/Morrow
Gay/Acy/Novak/Daye
Amir/Hansbrough/Acy
Val/Hayes

That's actually not a bad team and we'd have multiple draft picks and capspace coming up. Plus, we can build the future around Schroeder, Barnes and Val.

I like that lineup a lot, but I don't see Golden State trading Barnes and certainly not for Lowry and Ross. Lowry is an expiring and will be looking for a pay day and Ross has sucked so far.

Love that, don't think Detroit touches it though.

Why not Oden?

Post#1313 » by rapsanity » Fri Aug 2, 2013 6:19 pm

Why didn't we make a run at Greg Oden?

Play him in an Aaron Gray type of role--let him stay on the bench and play limited minutes

Low risk and high reward

Lol I don't think he'll be coming to Toronto. We should also make a run after Melo and LBJ

Why do we bother making threads when it's already been confirmed there are 3 finalist teams for him?

Just move on.

A: He probably was contacted by MU but Oden is pretty much picking his destination. Every team see's him as a low risk, high reward signing.

B: Even if he did choose Toronto there was probably never enough money available to sign him with all the holes that needed to be filled.

I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

Tanking may be the way to go for this year but to get real value back.

Massive trade reconstructs 6 teams

Postby cammac on Sat Aug 03, 2013 3:20 pm
Miami

Trades: Bosh, Wade, Anthony, 2018 1st top 3 protected
Gets: Gay, Lowry, Grey, Monroe, Charlie V, Gee

Why: Miami gets younger and saves a little money this year. LBJ can play PF full time, Gay at SF, Lowry vast improvement at PG, Monroe is canter anchor (,Oden signed health a issue), Gray better than Anthony, Charlie V & Gee salary to make it work both expiring.

Charlotte
Trades: MKG and Gordon
Gets: Wade

Why: Jordon needs to put people in the seats they get a all star.

Detroit
Trades: Stuckly, Charlie V, Monroe 2018 1st top 8 protected
Gets: Bosh

Why: Needs to save his job and make the playoffs;

Cleveland:
Trades: Thompson, Gee, Karasev
Gets: MKG, Amir Johnson

Why: They get a young SF 2nd, pick 2012 draft and a very decent PF who can play C in Johnson

LAL:
Trade: Nash, Sacre, 2020 1st top 3 protected
Get: Stuckly,Anthony

Why: Get 2 expiring contracts save 9.7 million on Nash in 2014/15. LAL likely will tank this gives them opportunity to be slightly worse.

Toronto
Trades: Gay, Amir Johnson, Gray
Gets: Thompson, Karasev, Nash, Sacre, Gordon and LAL 2020 !st, Detroit's 2016 1st and Miami's 2018 1st.

Why: Toronto guts its team to go for a top 5 draft pick in 2014 ideally Wiggins. Casey is hated by Toronto fans and Nash may be persuaded to retire after 2013/14 season to sign a 5 year head coaching deal, The get Thompson, Nash and Sacre all Canadians, plus draft picks, Gordon is expiring

Note: If DD could be moved in another trade great.

Return to Toronto Raptors
