The Bulls, Clippers, Grizzlies and Bobcats have all showed interest in the 37-year-old free agent, who believes he has a couple more years left of competing at a high level. "I think last year, getting the opportunity to play for the Lakers and their organization, I really jumped into it," Jamison said. "Didn't really view my options, but this year I really want to make sure I'm going to the right situation, where I have a good rapport with the coaching staff and also with management I'm able to communicate and get an understanding of what they want from me. i like the idea, im waiting for a trade (prince, davis for derrick williams, cunningham) but if not possible im ok with Jamison.

Re: Antawn Jamison
I am not sure where he fits when Coach J plans on playing Miller some stretch PF and Davis is the primary PF backup.
As for the potential Minnesota trade, the Grizz proposed a Prince trade previously and did not want a player back. Also highly unlikely that Ed Davis is traded this year, it is more likely that ZBO would be traded first and even that is looking unlikely at this point. They do need to clean up the salary situation for next year with restricted free agent decisions on both Ed Davis and Quincy with both due a raise.

I don't think it's soon enough. Ed Davis and Pondexter will be RFA's, Bayless will be a UFA, Koufos has a team option... that's basically our whole bench rotation at this point. And considering that Davis, Pondexter, and Bayless all should see enlarged roles this season, they will probably be due a significant raise if we want to keep them. I just don't think the math works if we keep Prince... especially if we sign Mo Williams to a multi-year contract.

Yep. Zbo, Marc, Conley and Tony put us at ~46 million next year (14-15) with Prince due to make 7.7. Zbo has a player option for 14-15, which if he really wants to stay ... maybe he works out a deal with the front office to decline the option in exchange for an extension that guarantees him additional years at a lower annual rate.
If Zbo really wants to stay/retire in Memphis, he's going to have to accept that he's aging and take a paycut IMO - otherwise he'll be shipped out at some point before his current contract expires.

I could see him doing that. He's in a really nice situation here playing next to Marc, and let's be real: it hasn't exactly worked out for him in any other city.

If the right deal comes along for prince he should definitely be move
I don't see many options though.if mo or beno signs maybe prince + TW could get something decent.
Maybe trade TW for some picks that can be used to move prince .at the deadlinr

Thing is we don't need anything back, especially if we sign Jamison or Harrington. I'm fine with sending a second rounder to some desperate team around the deadline for them to just take Prince.

Re: Antawn Jamison
That would be the perfect trade.
7.5m in caproom > prince.
Maybe a team like mil would want prince if they are in the playoff hunt.

FWIW, we apparently tried to make that deal with Minnesota earlier this summer, and they turned it down - but eating a bunch of salary for nothing during free agency isn't very appealing, unless you're Utah.

Yeah the timing isn't great for Prince right now. If he plays decent, I could see a team like Milwaukee over-performing their expectations and getting hungry for more role players.

How consistent is Antawn for three? Why not sign him and put him in his hotspots? Draw the D in with Gasol and kick it out to him.
