If he just gets his right hand strong enough to finish around the hoop at a better clip I think he'll excel in Detroit. He's better than Knight in probably every aspect except maybe finishing around the hoop

This is the one thing I hold onto with this trade (that I admittedly still don't like). Jennings has great upside as a pick and roll player. There really isn't many players who'd have plus pick and roll numbers playing with Milwaukee's supporting cast. I hope that Jennings and Detroit's bigs pick and roll the league to death. Detroit has 3 bigs that are significant upgrades in those situations over anything in Milwaukee.

Even if Detroit's half court offense is a one trick pony, if they can combine a plus pick and roll half court offense with a top 5 defense and easy transition buckets, this team could have 50 win upside.

Of course...if Jennings is still a diva who won't adapt to team ball, this team could win 32 games as well.

How so?

:dontknow: maybe he's gonna jack up those long twos instead of setting up the big men or dumping it down low
(worst case you have Drummond cleaning up the mess)

i don't think he'll improve his fg% (38-42%) but i hope he'll take less attempts/game and have significantly higher assists/game

All 3 of Detroit's bigs can excel in catching the ball while moving towards the basket. I don't feel like the dump the ball down and spread out is going to be extremely effective with the starting group. Maybe when Detroit rotates shooters from the bench...but not with the starters. Drummonds best opportunities with the starting group is in pick and roll situations or in transition.

Jennings definitely wouldnt be considered a "below avg PG" currently, thats an overreaction. I agree on the last sentence though for sure.

& nurseryc & scrop32 if Jennings & Josh play keep away from Drummond as some have predicted so help me God.

Jennings is a top 15-18 PG imo. If he were to average 17/8 while getting his FG% up I think that would put him in the conversation for top 12. Point guard is a DEEP position right now, so top 12 at the PG spot is more impressive than the equivalent at the SG spot. If Jennings can be above average this is a success.

The way I see it he will definitely not pass these guys: CP3, DWill, Rose, Westbrook, Parker, Curry, Irving, Wall, Lawson, Lillard.

The rest are fair game, though to be honest I would be pleasantly surprised if he ends up outplaying Holiday or Conley.

I'm not a Wall fan - I would not be that surprised if Jennings turns out to be a better player. Wall cannot shoot to save his life, and he's injury prone so far in his career. And I don't think he's that great of a floor general. Jennings also could well pass Lawson as a player, and be just as good as Lillard, too.

Look, I'm not saying I know for sure that Jennings will reach very high levels in this league. But he does have the talent to do so. IMO, this is all about how coachable this kid is. He's got a chance to breakthrough now, since he'll be surrounded by great young talent, potentially super big men, is in a very stable organization with Cheeks and Billups coaching and mentoring him.

Now, that all said, I'd be very surprised if he ever joins the CP3, Rose, Irving, Westbrook, Parker club. But the next level of PG's seems plausible to me.

Jennings wont ever reach the heights Lillard is going to reach, Lillard is going to be CP3 type special. Jennings bball IQ even improved still wont be in the same atmosphere as Lillards.
