I would not at all be surprised if they tank, I mean focus on player development, for 2013-14 and finish well back of the playoffs.
The loss of Karl will hurt a bit. But, I'm of the opinion that players win games, not coaches.
Executive of the year won't make too much difference barring some blockbuster deals for this season anyway.
Koufos probably can't claim to be much better than Mozgov or McGee.
The loss of Gallo will hurt, but, they've got Chandler who will do a nice job until he comes back.
Losing Iggy is huge. And for the most part that's why I dropped them 7 games from last year. I'm no expert on this stuff, but, I'm not sure Iggy was even worth 7 wins by himself. So, that seems reasonable.
And on the plus side, Denver has amazing depth in my opinion. There is talent galore on that roster as I see it, not a lot of star power, but, they are going to eat opposing benches alive unless I'm greatly mistaken.
Once Gallo is back you can take away the starting 5 (Lawson, Fournier, Gallo, Faried, McGee) and still have..
Andre Miller or Nate Robinson
Randy Foye
Wilson Chandler
JJ Hickson or Darrell Arthur
Timothy Mozgov
Even when you remove the starting 5 you still have a 7 man rotation that could hang with the 76ers and Suns of the league.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
