I agree. Would much rather have Rip than Stuckey...

trade Stuckey for similar expiring just for the sake of him not being here

sign Rip and Ben... not kidding

He still has game. He played well in the one playoff game he did play in last year.

I would actually be fine with this. We need depth at the SG position and with Billups being the backup PG they would have instant chemistry together. I also want Ben back too. Heck, trade for Tayshaun too because we need backup SF help as well lol.

Jennings/Billups
KCP/Hamilton
Smith/Prince
Monroe/Smith
Drummond/Monroe/Wallace

Tons of veteran leadership off the bench and great chemistry too. I seriously wouldn't mind this lol.

Rip burned bridges. I doubt he'll be welcomed back in Detroit.

He does not still have game. If he did, Chicago, who needs a 2 guard, wouldn't just let him walk. He played 10:20 (total!) over the final 10 playoff games this year. And he was a raging dick in his last few years here in Detroit. Truthfully I'm still pissed at him

It's real nice with the nostalgia of bringing back some guys, but let's not go overboard. We have enough guards.

Yeah, I don't think him and Dumars are on the same page, to put it simply. There's a far greater chance Ben comes back than Rip.

Because RIP is a prima dona, a douche bag and is more than done. Stackhouse has more fuel on the tank than RIP.

Lol. You must not have watched the last heat bulls game. He is still quick. He still had game and a solid jump shot.

Hell. No.

I would categorically not welcome Rip back to Detroit, and by all indications he'd have no interest in coming back either.

Hamilton would be a nice pick-up, we could probably get him on the veterans minimum...

RIP is completely done. I watched a lot of chicago last season and hes definitely done. not to mention, he left on bad terms too.
Wallace on the other hand i would be happy to bring back.

Rip is still better than Stuckey and I would welcome him back in the same manner I welcome Chauncey back. He may have had issues with Joe, but never did anything to bother me, so me personally yeah I'd resign him. Of course its up to Joe, not me, but if Joe was able to reconcile with Chauncey, and Chauncey is now here as a buffer between the two, I don't see why they can't patch things up. If I recall, I think there's supposed to be some kind of 10th anniversary ceremony next year of the 04 team. So Joe is going to have to make up with Rip eventually. Better now the later, and we can get some production out of him on the court in the meantime. As has been said he can still play. He gave Miami fits in the last game he played in the playoffs

Not only is Rip completely done, but I don't even respect him as a player anymore. He doesn't actively use twitter and decides to log in just to tweet this gem out when Gordon got traded.

Did you see game 5 of the miami series? He put up 15 on 50% shooting. If Chauncey can still play at 37, I think Rip can too at 35 if only needed in a reserve role. I think there was issues there with Thibodeau that kept Rip from succeed, as well as injuries, but if he's healthy (and happy....which he would be getting to play with Chauncey again), I think he can still be a good productive veteran off the bench.
