You can have Barmes but you can't have Barnes.

I would honestly consider Barnes + Bogut for Gortat + Suns 2014 draft pick, though it would have to be unprotected and I doubt they do that.

I wouldn't trade for Gortat this season, but if Bogut can't get himself healthy, then I think the Warriors would look hard at Gortat as a replacement.

There is no way any team will trade an unprotected first in this upcoming draft if there's a chance they'd be in the lottery.

I don't want Marshall, but I would take Marshall + 2014 2nd rd pick if the Suns wanted to dump him. I'd give them cash (but not as much cash as i would to just buy the pick from them).

Suns assets that i'd like to get my hands on (that they may actually be willing to trade):

Gortat
Brown
2014 2nd rd pick
Frye (if healthy)

Warriors assets i'd be willing to give up to obtain asset from above (in no particular order):
Douglas
Speights
O'Neal
Bazemore
Nedovic
Kuzmic
Green
Cash

So Brown i'd be willing to take if Suns wanted to cut some salary. We could use a TPE and cash to make the trade happen.

Gortat i'd love to get, but realistically, i don't see what we are going to offer from above to get him from the list above... i guess the package would need to start with Green and Nedovic and throw in some salary from Speights, maybe rights to Kuzmic? I'm sure the Suns would get better offers.

Draft pick: Doubt the suns give up a 1st so that leaves a 2nd. I'd give up some cash for a 2014 2nd.

If Frye is healthy i'd love to have him, but not sure how that gets done salary wise. Its gonna have to start with Speights or O'Neal i guess and any value is gonna have to be from D. Green. Again, not sure why Suns do that.

I do like Len, Dragic, the Morris', and Goodwin but don't see what we give up that the Suns would like, and that makes us better this year.

Edit: On 2nd thought, i'd only be willing to take Brown if we have no other injuries to other positions at the trade deadline. I don't want to use the TPE for him and then turns out we get a big injury at PG, PF, or C and we have less assets to cover for the injury.

Phoenix Suns fan here. I think there is a mutually beneficial trade. Talked to a GSW fan and he agrees with me. I would like to see what you think.

Barnes + Bogut for Goran Dragic + Marcin Gortat

Goran Dragic is the perfect sixth man who brings defense and spark off the bench. Plus he allows Steph Curry to play off the ball. Gortat is a better fit than Bogut because he can run. Having spent a lot of my time watching the Warriors this last season, I've always felt Bogut is unable to run in fast breaks, resulting in somewhat of an identity crisis. Certainly, Gortat's defense is not on Bogut's level, but he is an expiring contract and a very serviceable starting center.

Unfortunately, GSW will have to give up a high potential player in Barnes. But given GSW's plan to compete now, this trade will serve both teams' interests. With Draymond Green in the mix too, Barnes won't be able to get the minutes he deserves.

See my post. Take Barnes and Bogut out and insert any combination of guys from this list... and you have a deal. Otherwise, its not mutually beneficial.

This is as simple an explanation for why this makes no sense to a real GSW fan as anything else I can think of......

He's still gonna get 25-35mpg this year, trust me.

Yeah, this part didn't make a whole lot of sense. "You'll sit the superior player in order to make sure the inferior player gets more time."

Must be a Phoenix philosophy or something. I guess we'd also cut Curry's minutes so that we could play Dragic more, in that situation......?

Nope. Marshall is looking like a mistake...just a role/backup. Both Bogut + Gortat are now "short contract" so...it's no lock who is apt to remain. I'm not sure Barnes for the Suns #1 (obviously unprotected) is a smart gamble. So far...it's speculative that SOME high school guys will emerge as legit top 5 picks. However....guys get hyped and...they sometimes flop. Remember Wesley Johnson?

Stop trying to poach Barnes for terrible picks, scrubs, and middling guys who've hit their ceiling. That's a downgrade in terms of potential for both players.

Bogut for Gortat and 2 mid/late picks straight up and I might listen. Probably wouldn't bother though.

We didn't work hard to keep our young core together while adding Iggy to trade one of them for Goran Dragic.

Have Golden State and Detroit not discussed Monroe? Barnes for Monroe straight up doesnt make tons of sense for Detroit, but has this come up or no?

Doesn't make sense for us either. We already have David Lee, and Monroe's big contract is coming up soon.

I think it's not something EITHER team does now, but, depending on how other things are going...both can have interest at the Deadline or in a year. If GSW figures Bogut is NOT the C for the next few years or is injured too often to be affordable...this becomes a top option to look at. If the Pistons see that Monroe and Drummond ought to play C and Josh is best at PF...then Barnes is a tempting SF to get.

The Dynamic of Curry + Klay as sharpshooters from 3, means GSW won't want to deal Klay.. Also...Iggy has been a bit better at SF than SG IMO.
