Meet Dr. Harlan Selesnick

Post#1 » by ReturnofMVP3 » Sat Aug 3, 2013 7:53 am

This is our team physician who is an orthopedic surgeon with a focus on arthroscopic surgery, sports medicine and knee-joint replacement surgery. He seems to love working on hard cases as he describes in the video and I think he will be a wonder for Greg Oden hopefully. Thought I'd share this because he really interests me (though I'm a premed so maybe that's why  )

The key with Oden is getting him in great shape, keeping him light and lean, not overworking him, strengthening his supporting muscles in his legs, ect. NOT getting him under the knife again. the goal is to avoid that.

Good luck Greg, We're pulling for you.

most definitely. big guys like him need to be as light as possible. hes at 275 now/ id say he could drop down to the high 260s and be good there. also limiting him to 15 minutes a game when he does play with occasional games and practices off will get his body and knees acclimated to playing again

he definitely needs to strengthen his lower body though. dejuan blair has no ACLs and still looks fairly explosive. its cause he has a really strong lower body

I totally agree my point was this guy knows all about knees and obviously staying fit. He can work on precautionary things for Oden to have a successful year. That is what I am most hopeful about.
