What about Odom? Al Harrington?

Odom is a bum and washed up, I think hell stay in LA. I wouldnt mind them looking into Harrington its a big body that can hit some outside shots. I wish Caron Butler would get bought out, he'd be a great addition.

Don't see why caron won't be bought out near the deadline.

Caron could be a great addition. Butler has shown to be a decent defender and solid role player. The HEAT need to start finding a 2/3 that can come in and replace Battier/Allen when they both retire.

Caron butler hasn't been able to defend since 2010.
And he still can't shoot

I would agree with streaky shooting but last year, I remmber watching a few Clip games and noticing Butlers D. He won't be confused for Battier but he uses strength and IQ to keep his man in front of him.

I agree, hes no Battier but he can definitely hold his own. I also saw a couple of Clip games last year and he did pretty well, better option than having JJ in there or Lewis IMO.

Would be awesome to bring Butler back.

I still think we should take one of Harrington/Odom.

Has Roddy Beaubois been discussed? Im no scout but it seems to me that a 6'2 (6'9 wingspan) knockdown three point shooter that can get to the rim is exactly the type of player the heat need at pg. Got paid something like 1.6m last year and is not being retained by the mavs. Theres no way chalmers would start over this guy.

Beaubois has potential, however, Dallas elected to sign Mike James and started MJ over Beaubois.. think about it.. how bad do you have to be for that? lol

as for him being a great 3 point shooter.. hes a career 33% 3 point shooter and shot 30% last year.. how is that good?
last year his defense was nonexistant as well.. he's always had questionable shot selection.. IMO i'd pass on him and focus on developing cole (who has shown tremendous progress on the defensive end).. but thats just me.

I really dont like any free agents left to use MMLE on.. so time will tell on what Riley has up his sleeve, I guess.
Probably going to not use it until the "second FA signing" once guys get cut mid season and so on..

beaubois is a good player. Mavs were very high on him but they messed up with everything last season and especially him.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

I remember him being in the "untouchable" tier back in his rookie year lol.

Beaubois had some WOW games in his rookie season, I don't know if he fits what we need (I want another center) but I will be more happy if we sign him then if we sign Mo Will, he had (and maybe still has) high potential...

:nonono:

Man i swear some of you dont watch any games exept ours..

Mo was anice second option and an Allstar a few years ago when he played off of Lebron..

Beaubois couldn't get a minimum contract from a Mavs teams that needed PG's...

Just ridiculous.

He's started 12 games the last 2 years and there's no way Chalmers would start over him? Christ please put the pipe down

Chalmers is the worst starting pg in the league. Also, the heat are looking at sebastian telfair and mo williams. You cant tell me you would take either of those guys over him. As far as starting, id just like to see him compete. If he didnt get pt in the rotation of norris cole and mario chalmers, id be the first to say hes a dud.

Im not concerned with a player learning how to shoot a corner three, im concerned with defending the point guards we will face this season. Thats something mo williams simply cannot do.

It's amazing that some of you guys don't think Mo Williams could help the team. How could another great 3pt shooter, ball-handler, and scorer possibly hurt the team? Yeah his defense isn't great, but there's times last year that the Heat were getting awful PG play. You can't tell me Mo Williams couldn't help improve that, especially since he's had his best seasons playing with LeBron.

In Cleveland he was asked to be the 2nd option, that's why he struggled in the playoffs. He isn't that kind of player. But he's more then capable of being a 4th-5th option, knock down open shots, and score 10-12 points.

Mo Will could definitely help this team but Rio is a much better fit on BOTH ends of the court. If we do get Mo, I don't want him starting over Rio.

Nobody is starting over Rio. The guy has been the starter on two straight championship teams and has come up huge in the biggest moments. You don't replace a guy like that with a guy on a minimum deal.

If we add a PG, it will be to replace Cole's rotation spot and protect against injury. Chalmers' job is secure.
